Too bad google translate sux, but those are the first week figures and the blog clearly put "(first day sales)" besides the WKC figures.

At the bottom of the Japanese blog's post clearly commented that the closest game to WKC's First day sale figure was DMC4 at 139k.
Even with crappy google translate, how are you gonna miss that part about "first day figure" when it's mentioned so many times, unless Kotaku purposely omitted that part, which they did.

They do this kind of bullshit all the time and I wish people would stop going to that site and even boost their traffic because they do falsified reports on purpose so people would stay on the site and argue even more; all for the purpose so they will get paid by Kotaku's owner Gawker Media which pays their writers by the number of hits they get on each story.

It's a little nitpicky, but that distinction is important considering the other titles mentioned sold over a 5 day period.

Also, a week is Sunday-Saturday, not Monday-Sunday. So the dates should be the week of the 21-27.

White Knight Chronicles hasn't even been out for a full week yet, just for a few days. These sales in Japan are absolutely astounding.

If these numbers don't convince SquareEnix to get their JRPG's out on the PS3 regardless of how much they like easier Xbox 360 development, I don't know what will.

Now I just want to see the PS3's hardware numbers for the week of Dec. 25th. because they should be pretty good.

won't be happy because NONE of the next-gen games have even reached that number sold in Japan while Level-5's game sold 212,000 in 3 days. The main cash cow for Square has been the PSP, Wii and DS. Level 5 just proved that PS3 is a more than viable platform to release next-gen RPGs. This good news for Ps3 owners. This means that Square will soon release PS3 versions of Last Remnant and Star Ocean.

Square Enix can't always live on Microsoft's handout but you can bet on your loyal fanbase buying your games. A loyal fanbase are a recurring source of income because they will continue to buy your games if you cater to their tastes. Microsoft can't continue to sustain such business practices for long because it's really wasteful. They paid $50 million for GTA DLC while they could fund at least 4 Epic games. I heard Gears games cost $10 million a piece they already have a game engine. 4 full games vs DLC.

I know some Sony supporters blame Sony for not playing Microsoft's game. The problem is they can't afford to play Microsoft's game. Microsoft will outbid SCE any day of the week and its more profitable for Sony to develop games in-house rather than buy exclusivity contracts or paying to make prior exclusives multiplat.

I would rather a former Ps exclusive go multiplat. and receive another 1st party exclusive rather than Sony pay for a 3rd party game to remain exclusive and not be able afford a 1st party game.

SE claimed they were going to become more multiplatform with hopes of generating more revenues but they've yet to produce a game on a system that will provide millions of dollars or billions of yen in revenue. I could care less if the games are multiplatform or not because I get to play them either way but not releasing any games in almost 3 years for your most loyal fans makes no sense. Many people bought PS3 simply because of Square Enix games and they've yet to receive one while people who cared less for SE games are getting them. To make matters worse, SE isn't releasing quality games for 360 owners either. The PS brand has been the best platform for Square in the past 10 years(I agree), but now we have 3 strong platforms and they are spreading the love again. From the Wii/NDS/PSP/PS3/Xbox 360 and some think, it's a big negative because the games are no longer exclusive to them.

Microsoft might be paying extra for WORK Square-Enix is doing or for timed exclusive (at the cost of losing sales that could be made on the PS3 too), that is significantly different from "free". So far Square-Enix has passed up the chance to sell more copies of their IPs on the PS3 for whatever Microsoft offered. I don't know if that was worth it for either companies, because I don't believe anyone knows how much or if Microsoft is actually throwing EXTRA money at Square-Enix.

that tells me right there,BEFORE PS3 EVEN LAUNCHED,that square wanted a more even race at the cost of pissing off long time rpg fans.releasing rpgs on 360 is fine,but to not put those same games on ps3 is telling right there.to put games on psp that sell very well,but to not put those games on ps3 is telling.to not put past ps1 rpgs and games on PSN is telling.or ps2 games.or pushing back FFxiii for ps3 fans.

same with capcom and monster hunter.how many new wii casual gamers are going to buy munster hunter?the same that bought no more heroes.the same that will buy madworld....NONE.only the fans.but those fans are on ps2 ans psp.but nope,we can't support them,says capcom.that would be pushing sony ahead.pissing off fans is better.we want ps2 fans that bought wii.

that's why support is needed for level 5.a good rpg maker.their support of ps3 is telling.they want to move forward and give their ps2 fans something to look forward to if they don't have a ps3 yet.unlike square or capcom.

hope that it hits 500,000 in japan which means when white knight hits america and europe,it will be another ps3 million seller.
