The Final Fantasy XIII trailers introduced 3 brand new characters - 2 males and a female, balancing the roster so far at 3 males and 3 females. The new in-game battle system, recently shown in a few Japanese gaming magazines, was also shown off for the first time. It's a mixture between the tradition active time battle system used from Final Fantasy VI to X, and the seamless battle system of Final Fantasy XII.
