EA Mercenaries Hijack Petrol Station

'Mercenaries' from Electronic Arts are hijacking a London petrol station this morning and giving away £20,000 of FREE petrol to customers.

The entire forecourt of Last Stop Ltd near Finsbury Park, North London will be completely transformed into that of a military style bunker, with jeeps, oil barrels, sandbag walls, and fully costumed actors on hand to pump the petrol for the customers...

Didn't they realize that this would cause general disorder among the public?

FREE FUEL? WTF! Of COURSE this is going to cause lines around the block!

The sheer stupidity of people some times...

nirwanda5713d ago

the price of fuel gets talked about nearly every day in the national newspapers in the uk it's a great PR stunt they only spend £20,000 for a slot in every newspaper and will defiantly make local TV news and maybe even national tv news.

i live in london,
and i need petrol, omg need to go there

clrlite5713d ago

20,000 pounds will get you blokes about 17 gallons of petrol, no? HAha I'm just kidding. I've heard the gas prices over there are astronomical. Perfect opportunity for EA to exploit the burdensome conditions :] Then again, you guys do drive those tiny little cars. People are finally starting to drive them here in America. As well as hybrid cars, and electrics, which are somewhat uncommon.

Chip chip cheerio cheerio :]

bumnut5713d ago

fuel is £1.10 per litre

diesel is £1.20 per litre

we get ripped off

nirwanda5713d ago

thats just over $2 per litre we get raped by the taxman

Shortstop5713d ago

Uh, EA doesn't give one damn about the fuel lol. This is just a case of doing it for publicity, which it's getting. I would imagine it's along the lines of "the mercs stole the venezuelan gas" and here it is free.

And yes I didn't read the article.

I cant agree with a lot of games on this list. Far, far more deserving entries - which I wont go into now. All I will say is Blast Corps U...I can dream, cant I?

The Darkness games are among my favorite games of last gen. Both were very unique in their own ways. I'd love to see a third iteration though I doubt it'll happen.

Folklore 2 would be nice as well.

idlet3419d ago

Folklore was great! Great mechanics and atmosphere. Shame it never got too much notice

I_am_Batman3419d ago

Yeah. If I hadn't played the demo I would've probably missed out on it as well.

Helloween133420d ago

Well apart from Jak and Daxter the rest are total crap and I for 1 are glad there was no more of that crap, now if you want to talk about Heavenly sword and Medievil now thats 2 that should have another go at this gen

Legend of Dragoon. That is all that needs to be said.
