The internet reacted violently to the news that the new Ghostbusters game was no longer in development, due to its absence on Activision Blizzard's release list. "It is not canceled and it will not be canceled", says Sierra PR.

how is Ghostbusters cancelled if they showed the product recently? its too late to do that now. Brutal Legend on the other hand...

Breakfast5750d ago

Wtf is Brutal Legened?

Ghost Busters was featured on that Spike TV show, like a month ago.

Maybe it caught the Splinter Cell virus?

The gaming GOD5750d ago

I guess even the almost done games are suspect to be canceled. Which unfortunately includes ghostbusters

Dark General5749d ago

What is Brutal Legend you ask? http://www.youtube.com/watc... That my friend is Brutal Legend.

Forbidden_Darkness5750d ago

They better not cancel Brutal Legend! the game was looking to be awesome!

If activision cancels those games, ill be pissed!

Dark General5749d ago

It was the game i was expecting most this year after Mirrors Edge and LittleBigPlanet. I just really, really, REALLY hope that it's not canceled. Heck i still have a tiny sliver of hope that it might actually come out this year. Santa make it happen!

Milky5749d ago

The ghost busters game looks realy fun. I am happy they arent cancelling it.

Nevers5749d ago

Think the "Can" article had a bit too much assuming going with it. I don't really care that much about Ghostbusters, looks good and I'll proly rent it, but I really really want Brutal Legend to come out ... sometime.

Ghostbusters isn't cancelled, way would they cancel it after spending money on advertising it

I hope Brutal Legend isn't cancelled because it looks sick.

games4fun5749d ago

is that the game is definately delayed, the time it will take to find a publisher and choose and accept offers not to mention the contracts being drawn up will take to long and delay the game at least a month or two and may even push it to 2009.

the game is really good looking though, so a publisher may step up to the plate and get a deal drawn up quickly enough.

This game...holy heck. Makes me feel old.

gamer7804752d ago

I loved that game. Unlocked every song

MadLad752d ago

Liked the aesthetic, tone, humor, and action combat.
Didn't care for the RTS elements.

Never cared to finish it.

porkChop752d ago

Yeah they marketed the game like it was a Heavy Metal GTA-ish adventure. And at the beginning of the game that's what it was. The game fell apart when the half-baked RTS stuff came in. I'd be interested in a reboot or sequel, but just go full action adventure and ditch the RTS. There really is something there with the Heavy Metal theme.

Ryushaa752d ago

I feel you. I just hacked the game to have infinite life/RTS resources

PS360 gen was special, then again it was still the mid 2000s. Everything went to shite in the teens

mastershredder752d ago

I think that was the breaker for Doublefine's creative ambitions and their mixing of genres (which was getting kinda stale). It was a nice to look at but it was more of a tribute to the many things Tim loves, was influenced by and has great admiration for....but the forced RTS stuff was like a drinking buddy's "great idea" that never should have come to light. The game seemed a lot more vast, but it ended pretty quickly too. And Jack Black. As much as I don't care for him as an actor (annoying and requires constant attention), this was absolutely made with him in mind and it worked. I mean come on, Tenacious D? For as Metal as this game was trying to be, even comically, it did little more than meow.
