Internode Games: Metal Gear Solid 4 Review

To say that Kojima Productions has succeeded in meeting the lofty expectations for Metal Gear Solid 4 would be something of an understatement; they've really gone above and beyond what was possible. The game manages to tie up the series' heavy and slightly convoluted story in a rather exciting and satisfying manner, yet at the same time manages to offer seriously high quality gameplay action on a level thought impossible for a series that has focused so heavily on cinematics and story.

It's like the ultimate piece of fan service, tying up all of the loose ends and bringing back many much-loved characters, but at the same time it welcomes new players with open arms. It's also an amazing technical achievement, with Kojima's team squeezing the most out of the PlayStation 3 hardware. Guns of the Patriots is an awesome package that will be remembered as one of the finest games of this generation.
