Takeuchi divulges Resident Evil 5 plot details

Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi has revealed that he had "no choice" but to set the upcoming survival horror title in Africa due to the game's story revolving around the origins of the Progenitor Virus.

Speaking with Game Videos, Takeuchi stated, "The main reason that we chose Africa as the setting for Resident Evil 5 is actually from a clue that came up in Resident Evil: Code Veronica, where it was revealed that Africa was the original of the Progenitor Virus, which is the origin of all the viruses that appear in the series."
