Metal Gear Online will use Konami Game ID.

It turns out that the final version of Metal Gear Online will also use the Konami Game ID, check the link for a scan of the manual.

no.. but seriously... wasn't this game suppose to take advantage of Home and PSN? if they are not even using PSN ids... how would that even work? game invites, etc?

You still have to be logged into the PSN or you can't play.

The only positive thing to this is that THIS way, you can have multiple soldiers...and raise their stats differently, just use a different Konami ID for each character you wanna create.

This'll mess up their plans for this to be as big of a game as it should've been though because newcomers to the series aren't gonna want to go thru the process of getting a Konami ID and Game ID just to play when most other games just have you press the 'Multiplayer' button and you're in.

I know I'll be there though, cuz I've already got my ID's AND a soldier from the BETA that's already ranked up =D

THAT is the main problem w/ this setup.

Even if someone is on your PSN friendlist...you STILL have to 'ask' them for their Game ID in order to add them to your clan or find them in a game to join their game.

If they haven't fixed that from the BETA, then there's gonna be a massive uproar.

If not, I suspect they'll patch it later if possible.

what issue does konami have with the PSN, they've continuously proved that their servers are not up to par. With a simultaneous world wide release and presumably 1000s more logging on to MGO, I'm willing to bet their servers come crashing down!

It means separate friends list, 2 more ID's and password to enter, Credit Cards to enter(yes they use this system for transactions). We don't want it that complicated.

It's mainly because a lot of us are lazy gits who don't want the hassle and it could be human nature that we don't want to go to a website that may be down for the longest f!@#ing time just to play online, but it depends, I'm pretty much in the clear as I have a konami ID from the Beta... just this does make it a hassle for the people that are finally getting into MGO or MGS4 etc etc.

-The separate friends list will be full of only people that own MGO.
-You only have to remember one ID (your Game ID) and Password, and you can have it automatically remember it after your first login.
-They haven't said at all how they will distribute new content. So no one can say for certain if it will use the PSN Store or something of Konami's creation.

Of course it does. This has been known since the beta. It'll be used for every online Konami game. I'm glad I wrote it down.

This is seriously not a good idea. One of the reasons XBLive is good is because you have 1 ID for everything. After the hassle with Beta online and getting ID sorted. He can stuff the game where the sun don't shine.
