According to an advance copy of next weeks Walmart Flyer, they will be offering a $100 Gift Card with purchase of the 40GB PS3 from June 1 to 7th.

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.
Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion
Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.

I don't know what I'm more shocked by (if this remotely true): the fact that PS3's are essentially dropping to $300 USD or the fact that Wal-Mart is giving away money to use in their stores at the same time! (kind of beneath them to do such things given their history)

If you look at the picture of the article you will see that the gift card is for Blu-Ray movies only. Still a great offer imo.
So basically kinda in a way sorta.. Your getting a 40g Ps3 for 299.. Its kinda in a way sorta a price drop
I like it.. Use the 100 bucks on a game and HDMI cable they have for only 30 bucks.. 10 bucks left over for some soda and chips..
