this game has been made by Free Radical I'll be buying it first day it is released.

I've been a fan of Free Radical from a long time now and if there is one thing that I have learned from this site is take every review with a pinch of salt. I will be very surprised if Haze really is a 6/10!

Well this site is a little weird, one of the writers praise Ps3s Bluray, sound and Hdmi while he critisises 360s quality, but he also gave Resistance 6/10, Heavenly sword 5/10 and Ratchet and clank 7/10.

Another writer is a pure Xbox fanboy all hes blogs are about common problems in the gaming industry and his blogs always turn out negative for Sony and Ps3, and ofc the 75% (which are 360 fanboys) praise him and treats him like a king.

Swedes play on easy? Lol at hatchetforce (aka:sonyfan numero UNO), look at the clan-scene and you'll realize just how good swedes are at gaming. Swedes like challenges and innovation, my guess is that the lack of these aspects in the game is what pushed the low score. Maybe a bit too harsh, but this is how a lot of swedish magazines grade: if its bad or not great---> really low score, if its good--->really high score. Also they are very sensitive to HYPE in my experience.
BTW, if a game-site gives a Sony game low scores, why does the ENTIRE COUNTRY hate Sony? Listen to yourself, you sound ridiculous. Does the same logic apply if they give a high score? Cus last time I checked, Sony games were getting pretty damn high scores, something "alle" should know.

What IS horrible however is their english, which I can only describe as just that: horrible. Not that mine is perfect.

Edit: If I were you, I'd wait for IGN and gamespot reviews as these are made by, and meant for an american audience. Just some friendly neutral swedish advice lol.

Famitsu is somewhat liberal in regards to its reviews. Some of their scores are more in line with Western review scores, though sometimes their idea of a good game is entirely different. One or two review scores is not enough to decide if a game is good or not. Sometimes you have to rent before you buy if your not entirely sold on the review. Keep in mind that reviews are subjective, not unlike an opinion.

Even based off the demo which wasn't too good I wouldn't give this game a 6/10. If the intro sucked skip it (if you can). We already know you're a solider working for Mantel to take down the rebels. If the AI is bad (which would suck in any shooter) I don't know what to tell you play it on hard or very hard. The enemies wouldn't be varied if your fighting as the Haze troops, but I agree there should be more when you're fighting against the Haze troops.

Still it doesn't deserve a 6/10. Maybe 7.5/10 at the lowest.

Yeah, that`s true i remember the norwegian review of it (it seems they give the same score across Norway, Sweden and Denmark), because Resistance got a way lower score there than in other places.

Not a good sign for Haze, but i generally don`t trust the norwegian sites so much, so it would be wise to wait for some other ones to have their go.

call me crazy but somehow i don't think im going to trust a swedish site that gave Resistance a 6

the only 4 reviews that matter to me are IGN, Gametrailers, PSM3UK and OPMUK

if i look at Gamespot's or 1up's score- i just add an extra point to get the picture

most site's ad mags are biased since they're not as well known and therefore aren't under pressure to be unbiased or objective

im also impressed that a clearly western shooter scored 34/40 in Famitsu- a mag in which its hard to get such a score unless your some sort of RPG, mecha fighter or an over-the-top crazy Japanese fighting game (which i love)

A lot of people, myself included, only know about this game because of who's making it. Free Radical has a history of making great FPS, plain and simple.

It's the same reason I kept track of Mass Effect. If I learn about a game from a developer who has made great games before, then I will be excited to play their next project.

i am not sure about this because i usually get my reviews from gamtrailesr and this web site, this is only the 3rd time i have read an a review from this sweids website, but still if gametrailers or this web site gives the game a low score like this then u have to admit the game is crap, i played the demo and it was pretty average but it was nothin above ur starndard fps...i guess playing cod4 that much u expect a fps to be as good as that or better, i still think cod4 set the starndard of how fps should be, i am going to by haze but if i play it for a couple hours and dont find it sweet i will return trade it in.

Content, and tag-lines are two totally different things. Learn the difference.

Let's see generic voice work? Check. Generic FPS? Check. Generic art direction? Check. Even the story seems generic so far. I don't see what's left to get excited about over this release. After that demo I doubt many people would still be backing this game if it weren't for it being exclusive. If it's a year old build then that's really their fault, but still there isn't much hope for this game. In the event that the game turns out to get the majority of gleaming reviews with such quotes as, "Forget the sour taste of the demo, this game flat out rocks!" then maybe I'll give it a shot, and have to eat my words, but until then don't expect me to change my tune. There will be those who hype games, and those who do the opposite. Learn to deal with it.

Generic voice work? The demo had maybe 15 - 20 lines in it. Hardly a good sample to form an opinion of the entire game on.

Generic FPS? Beyond replacing the gun with a rabid badger, I'm not really sure what you expect. I don't see how COD 4, as an FPS, really innovated. There were definitely some very cool features but the core mechanics were still there.

Generic art direction? If 'realistic' is getting boring for you then I suggest you retire from gaming because things ain't getting any more cartoony from here.

Generic story? This is the one I really take issue with. Name me one other game where your character starts fighting on one side of a war only for the game to swap sides half way through and totally overhaul the mechanics in the process. All while set to the back drop of an intriguing story involving mind alteration that you experience first hand as you play through the first half and then escape in the second.

Seriously, while the game may be 'just average' (or not), I feel your comments are almost completely unfounded.

For you to even try to defend the voice over work makes your argument seem unfounded. Almost everyone who played the demo agreed upon this fact. From the videos I've seen, and I've seen plenty the rest of the game has the same cheesy dialogue. Hell even the behind the scenes developer videos had the same cheese. Realistic art design? This doesn't look cartoony like it came straight from GI Joes the animated series? With that almost identical generic Timeshift looking suit. C'mon! As for game-play they aren't improving or adding anything any new worth while features so generic seems to fit perfectly. People claim nector is a big deal when in fact it gives you pretty much the same super human abilities as games such as the suit in Crysis, and countless others. The story as I'm just assuming not having played the entire game, but so far just like the rest of the game it seems generic.

First it's not a change in mechanics, second change in ABILITIES happens in almost every single game, and thirdly that has nothing to do with the story. As for the story itself the character who works for the evil empire, but learns he's been played the pawn, and then has a change of heart happens in a countless number of other games. One recent one off the top of my head is Dark Sector. If that's the extent of how deep the story is then I'd say there is a problem.

This is the facts that we know so far, and this is what we should be expecting from this game.

Pirate Thom is right. The game just looks like another generic first-person shooter game to me. Unless the gameplay and storyline is anything like an excellent FPS such as COD4, then I really don't see that much interest or hype in this game. I'm not saying Haze will be a totally rubbish game, it does look nice and I'm very sure some gamers out there will enjoy playing it, but admittedly it does look kinda average and run-of-the-mill, simply just another average or decent FPS to add to the PS3's growing collection of exclusive titles.

It's funny, I played the demo and enjoyed the style, and story. Me and my buddy are getting it to play co-op since we both enjoyed it. Yes it's not a amazing game but to me it's entertaining. Still expect a 7-7.5 average when it's all over.

Plus it's Free Radical, and I haven't played a single one of their games, and didn't have fun. To each their own.

I would personally rather play MGS4 over Haze any day and actually both FR and Ubisoft were touting this via advertisments and dev diarys that would be a shooter to kill Halo. Anyways, I never thought it was gonna be a good game at all even if it was a PS3 exclusive and it was being made by FR.

If it wasn't for MGS4 being out in 25 days (!!!) then I would definitely be buying this game. As it is though (and with exams on right up until MGS4 release pretty much) I will be giving this one a miss. It's a shame because I actually really liked the look of it and though the demo was pretty nice. The gameplay offered something a little different as well. Even in the short demo, I was really heavily relying on the nectar and can see how having that ripped away half way through could really effect the player. It's these sort of fourth wall things that really interest me. Sadly, MGS4 is going to blow absolutely everything that this year will offer out of the water. Yes, even GTA IV.

GameReactor is well known around here, and they even got invited to E3.
As I said, you can't always trust their reviews, because they mainly speak about how they feel the game is personally and not from a professional reviewer's point of view.

In a video review they said "The game is very entertaining and there's a lot of stuff to do, but the game is not fun."
I thought etertaining is what games are supposed to be?

Anyways, if you really think the game is good, then give it a shot and ignore the reviews. Hell, Ninety-Nine Nights got ratings below 5/10 and I still bought it and had fun with it... even got 100% achievements in it.

and someone who has ACTUALLY played the demo, I have to admit that HAZE fell waaaaaaaaay short of the finished product that I was expecting. This visuals are average, the voice acting is horrible and at many time outright laughable and it just failed to impress me at all.

I'm actually pissed because Free Radical has had ample time to make HAZE more than what it is. It has been pushed back numerous times which I thought was a good thing because I dont beleieve in rushing an unfinished product. So my question is- what the hell has Free Rad been doing with all this damn time? HAZE is not a good game and it sure in the hell doesnt utilize too much of the my PS3's potential.

I love my PS3 but HAZE isnt worthy Exclusive or not. Its an average friggin FPS and Free Radical should be ashamed for taking all that time to come up with this POS. I cant support a title based on it being a PS3 exclusive alone, doing so will create a welcome mat for devs to dump crapware on the PS3 and slap exclusive on the box bc this is all that PS3 owners are concerned with.

I like exclusives but damn, all of them are not worthy and HAZE is not worthy.
