Two nights ago, however, the city was indeed the home of Konami's Gamer's Night 2008, where the company unleashed a plethora of new information on several of their upcoming releases. Before attending, I was crossing my fingers that there would be the slightest presence of Metal Gear Solid 4 at the event. In the end, what I experienced was Konami surpassing my hopes greater than I could have ever imagined. Not only did I get to watch Hideo Kojima himself play through the beginning portions of Metal Gear Solid 4, I was given the chance to try my own hand at the game I've been anticipating for a year or two despite not owning a PS3. Yes, I got to play Metal Gear Solid 4 a month before its release, and here's what I have to say.
Actually, let's put my own impressions on hold for a little bit. I think it'd be better to first explain the game as played by Kojima – and by that, I mean from the beginning of the game to the end of the opening cinematics and such. I didn't get the chance to play through this part myself, so the least I could is explain it."
