CVG: MotorStorm: Pacific Rift - Interview: There's more to MotorStorm than mud

CVG writes: "The first trailer had monster trucks, destruction, and a girl with giant bazookas in it. But there's more to MotorStorm 2 than that.

The original was our favourite PS3 launch title and is still one of the best-looking games on the console. With an extra year to get to grips with the complexities of PS3's motherbrain, Evolution Studios has turned the dials up on visuals, action and brutality.

That's what game director Nigel Kershaw tells us anyway. We've yet to play it. But he talks it up well.

Q: How much of PS3's technical potential do you think you used in the original?

Kershaw: It's extremely difficult to quantify it like that. MotorStorm used as much of the console's power as we were able to unlock at the time. We now know more about how best to work with the hardware, and so we have made numerous sizeable leaps with regards to the graphics, physics, AI and so on.
