I think it looks great. The animations are very nice. It's very comparable to COD4 in the graphics department.

I'm glad they'll be coming out slightly separated from one another. KZ2 looks more sci-fi, with vehicles and an emphasis on dirty post-apocalyptic sci-fi technology. It's a bleak, grey world that smacks of squad based action. R2 looks more story oriented, with the emphasis on your lone adventure.

Both will have multiplayer differences that will make one appeal to you more than the other, but they both look like fantastic fun online. I for one can't wait to see, and play, both games.

Well, I guess Killzone 2 did get pushed to 2009. However, I'm just glad that it's coming out early 2009 and not mid-late 2009 though.

Delaying Killzone 2 to early 2009 was probably the best decision because of Resistance 2 coming in November, and 2 high profile game titles coming like Killzone 2 and Resistance near the same time frame, it would affect sales.

I'm a little disappointed that Killzone 2 didn't make a 2008 release because I was expecting it this year, but when it comes out next year, it will definanlty blow everyone away.

Everybody that bought Call of Duty 4 for the PS3 had BETTER be getting both Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 and that's all I have to say. We PS3 owners must support the exclusive PS3 games, screw multiplatform.

WHY does every game ever released have to offer something NEW to the genre to some of you people?

why can't a good game just be a good game?

games like Resident Evil 4, God of War, Gears of War, etc didn't really add anything new to their respective genres, but they were fantastic games nonetheless.

i'd choose a great game over forced innovation anyday. i don't want a developer to try and innovate just for the sake of innovation. if innovation stems from their design (ie, what GTAIII did for the industry 8 years ago), then GREAT. i'm all for it.

but first and foremost, i want the developer to concentrate on creating the game they wanted to created, and a good game at that.

i've been playing video games for a long time (since i was 6 years old, way back in 1985), and i've seen games develop from 2D blips and bloops on the screens, so fully complex 3D models that are almost indistinguishable from real life.

on the gameplay end, i've seen games evolve from flat, top down 2D adventures, to fully rendered worlds that capture the realism of the real world in ways i never thought possible back then (ie, GTAIV's superbly realized Liberty City).

i don't require every game out there to reach that pinnacle. it's a selfish, unrealistic goal. developers are only human. they can only do so much, with the resources and talent they have, regardless of epic budgets, or small budgets.

i just want to have a fun time with my games. and if they look good and happen to revolutionize or add things to a genre, then so much the better. but those expecting every game to be groundbreaking must have some very VERY small game libraries

GoW = Heavy emphasis on action mini games and and the greek mythology makes this a stand out title in a lot of ways... It was a new experience for me having to do button combos a lot of the time and GoW pulls it off nice!!!!

the development of this game started around "2005"..how long is it gonna take, to come out with the damn game?

Yes I'm sure everyone wants a polished game, but is it going to take 4-5 years to develop/publish/release a game this GEN? Barring any delays..

That would mean, you'd get maybe 2 major titles from top devs a Console Generation. It's probably because they are trying to live up to that "DAMN" trailer. I hope the game play is good, since it looks chaotic in these videos.(sorta like a movie)..if you ask me.

Out of all of these Videos, we never really get to see the tactical aspect of the game, it's just "crazy shooting" like another FPS.(sorta nothing new from the (Pre Pre Pre alpha days) Sheesh FEB 09, well all that is doing, is softening the year for Sony and their library. Which works in advantage for the Xbox 360 and it's "suppose" weaker line-up".

So now, it will be Gears 2 going up against Resistance 2 as the BAIT come the Holidays...hmmm interesting. This game will be on the back burner for yet another year.

Come on man. GOW1 and GOW2 used the same engine on the PS2 and came out at a time when devs virturaly knew everything they know about the PS2. KZ1 was on the PS2 and KZ2 is on PS3 and in between they also had Liberation. 4-5 years is understandable considering that both games are in different gen as well as what they are trying to achieve with KZ2. I bet you will see KZ3 in less then 3 years after KZ2.

From the looks of this new trailer will be one of those FPS that is so intense that you will actually feel like you are in a war zone. I know some FPS have already achieve this like COD4 but i believe KZ2 will take it to the next level. Realistic particle effects, debri, physics, lighting, sound effects and ofcourse excellent graphics could make this game one of the standout titles this gen. So Feb 09 it is. I knew a long time now it will be delayed until next year.

Easily the best shooter graphics I've seen on consoles. The dust, smoke, textures, animation, character models, and most of all the lighting ... wow. Someone mentioned COD4 but the reality is that it's not the same league as this game. COD4 had good art direction but was technically lacking. The first time I've looked at a shooter (Crysis included) and experienced anything close to suspension of disbelief. Having said that, PC/Console graphics arent quite there yet.

Kudos to the dev team for coming so close. People are going to be blown away. The detail and 3 dimensionality of it is amazing.

I'm really happy they showed new footage of the game, but let's not get carried away by calling this game "THE BEST LOOKING GAME OF ALL TIMEZ!!!".

And saying any game on consoles looks better than Crysis on maxed-out settings is ridiculous. However, it looks as though it will have better character models (by far) and lighting techniques. The texturing of Crysis is what beats this game, though i'm sure now that the release date of Feb '09 can give this title the added "oomph" it needs. Also, i'm hoping that all the concentration on the graphics is slowing down so they can concentrate on the AI and innovate with the gameplay.

Overall I am thoroughly impressed by this, and not disappointed that they delayed it. A game of this scope and caliber needs all the polishing time it can get to live up to the monumental hype machine that it is powering.

I may get a lot of heat for this, but i can't help but say it anyways. It looks almost on par with COD4. Explosion looked alittle bit weaker than COD4, Graphics are pretty much on par with COD4 yet in the very up close it looks washed out and not as clean as COD4. Hate to compare it with COD4 but it looks just like it, but with different environment. Looks like its going to still be a great game and can't wait to play it. Yet in no way does it match the old videos it said it was going to be by any means! Its just on par with COD4, but maybe just a hair toned down.
