The boost received by both consoles was pretty similar. PS3 80GB's are still out of stock and a couple of people are holding off for those. Msoft doesn't have any big system sellers till gears of war 2. So this is a rather painful loss for them

Again vgchartz pulls numbers out is ass so this means nothing. Beside GTA4 on the 360 out sold the ps3 version by 2 to 1. Even if the number are right I hardly call that a win for the ps3 sell a couple of thousand more system while the 360 sold over a million more copies for gta4 . The 360 sold more GTA's, Because more people in america own 360s then ps3. So if u break it down, the precentage of people that own a 360 and bought GTA is lower than that of the ps3. All this just means that the PS3 will outsell the 360 once again in the month of April for NA. And I doubt the 360 is ever going to beat the PS3 in monthly sales ever again, because it will be exclusive titles one after another.

The PS3 is finally starting to get the PS2 fanbase to switch over. The release of Haze should secure more sales in Europe, and MGS4 worldwide and that's when the PS3 will finally distinguish itself from the rest of the pack. This should only be a preview for the rest of the year.

their estimates usually favor MS. So the numbers could actually be bigger for Sony then VGC is "estimating" here.

There is no doubt MS was smart enough to know just how badly they needed GTA IV. That is why they went after it so hard. I just don't see what MS could possibly have left in the tank to compete with Sony from here on out. Gears 2 wont be enough and I am well aware of most of their other exclusives over the next couple years and most of them are unproven IPs.

After this year MS will be focusing squarely on their "Next" Box. The only chance they have is to get it out a couple years ahead of the PS4.

and in NA, truly a lot of people wanted this game more on PS3 considering how many consoles it moved in NA. I think we will see a monthly lead worldwide close to 100,000. Between all three consoles, no matter what side you are, that's ALOT of software between just three games.

more HW sales for PS3 and more SW sales for the x360 with a ratio of 3:2 and not 2:1 as MS were claiming. Overall there will be more HW sales for the PS3 and the SW sales will be neck and neck for GTA4 when you factor in Europe and Japan.I still expect the x360 to win but it won't be much. It is pretty safe to say that the ratio will be much less than 3:2 in favor of the x360 overall as i have predicted earlier.

If 3 PS3 owners bought GTA, and 5 360 owners bought it, a higher percentage of PS3 owners would've purchased the game, but it doesn't change the fact that more 360 copies were sold, period.

All the people who are saying that the 360 install base is larger than the PS3 in NA need to take all the boxes that went RRoD without getting fixed. Some people even bought 3 360's so I don't see the need to buy 3 of the same games.

Yeah, it's pretty funny how PS3 and 360 fans simply ignore the Wii. PS3 fans also seem to want to just ignore the fact that Sony has given up a HUGE amount of market share for the GTA series - and not just SOME share, but MOST of the share. If Microsoft had sold only ONE copy of GTAIV, it would have been considered a victory for Microsoft. Consider how much of the GTA pie that Sony has lost to Microsoft before claiming any Sony victory. Sony should have 100% of the GTAIV sales. Period. As far as Microsoft is concerned, it's all about taking market share away from Sony and they've done that. Sony should be less worried about the 360 and be more worried about losing the casual gamer to the Wii which is happening in droves...
