Analysis of Americas Sales for the Week Ending March 29, 2008

VGChartz writes: "Hardware sales dropped across the board this week. Wii saw a drop of approximately 150,000 units while the other platforms dropped 15,000 to 35,000 units from the previous week. The drops for most platforms are understandable considering the timing of this week. Wii is still facing supply issues, and Nintendo likely is saving some stock for Mario Kart and Wii Fit in the second quarter. Xbox 360 and PS3 are down in the wake of the Tom Clancy launch last week while preparing for the launch of GTAIV next month and future price cuts. DS and PS2 are down from the dearth of big releases this week. That leaves PSP, which did have a big release – Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – but still saw sales decline this week.
