well your watching a different verison cos if you think thats resi 4 in HD then you need to go to specksavers.

Of course its will have some of the same gameplay mechanics as resi 4, why change a winning formula, MGS4 will have the same gameplay mechanics as the others just updated.

I agree with Riki. The enemies have the EXACT same animations as in RE4. I sincerely hope that those are placeholders, as it looked we were watching RE4...with different colored enemies. The walking animations were exact, the waving of the blades exact, even the way they fall down. The only new component was the muck that was created.

It looked good, but I am now a bit concerned that this will be a spit shined RE4 with MANY recycled components.

I hope they make RE5 a little scarier this time. I wasnt scared at all when i played through RE4. And puzzles that are actually challenging this time would be nice. Horror and puzzles are core aspects in RE but they were almost non-existent in 4.

Looks like a 10/10 but some details are hard to ignore.

Chris Redfield sure looked tall, athletic and aryan. I wonder if he's still a member of S.T.A.R.S. alpha team, or has he joined ranks with the KKK? Very weird scenario indeed, especially considering all the current issues in Africa, like the ethnic cleansing going on in Darfur for example.

suggestions
1) we need to see actual body wounds that stain the clothes
2) revamp the animations
3)get shinji for some tips
4) bodies do not evaporate

i know these are just cosmetic touches but would add a lot to the overall experience....anywhich way re5 turns out, i will still be buying it and it will definitely be an extraordinary experience, hopefully on both consoles. way to go capcom :)

I agree with the need for bullet-ridden bodies, but have to disagree with evaporating bodies; it's gotta be done man, that's how they keep it looking so good! I don't think we can say too much about the animations at this point, personally, they look like place holders. We've already seen that they (zombies) are capable of ultra-realistic animations, I just don't think they've been implemented yet. I'm sure they'll be RE4'esk, but with a dozen more, unique, and fast...CAN'T WAIT!!!

I like the 360 controller much much better so I'll design the game for 360 because it's easy and we have experience with it (Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Devil May Cry 4) and port it over to the delaystation. Happy Sloppy Seconds for ya all. Hope u enjoy the sloppy seconds u all have received for Vegas 2 and will for GTA 4. Even ur exclusive cant run at 60fps???? Haze anyone? MGS4 anyone?

Not at all, they're both good apps with their own strengths and weaknesses. XSI excels in animation though, Maya has it beat in dynamics. If you've come from Maya to XSI there are setups that use the same keyboard configs so really it's just a matter of learning the interface.

What? Max still costs like 3500, you can pick up XSI Foundation or Essentials for 500 and 2000 accordingly. The Advanced version is like 5k but it comes with the XSI|Behavior crowd simulation software (they used it in the intro to RBSV) which used to cost like 14k alone, and 12 mental ray rendering nodes.

I used to use Max like from versions 3-5 when they were still under Discreet, but then I moved to Maya. Stayed there about a year and moved on to XSI (my brother is still a Maya purist) and I'll probably never move to another full suite app. Now my current pipeline is Silo/XSI->Zbrush->XSI and I love it. I wanted to mess around with Modo but I haven't gotten the chance to yet, and Silo is just so damn fast and awesome.

Dude, relax. These other people don't even know how to pay attention to the little things that make RE5 look so good, like the animations of those two guys pulling that other one into the shack or very subtle and organic movement in general. The lighting and skin reflections are superb, it all looks phenomenal; don't mind the sheep, that's what I always say...;)
