PSN Down For Some Users?

For some users, the PSN seems to have been unavailable since thursday night. Many of these people are on Orange Broadband, though Orange deny that anything is wrong.

"I am too with Orange and my connection has worked flawlessly since I got a PS3 (march), until yesterday. Now all I get is the message "The connection with PLAYSTATION Network timed out" or "An error has occurred. You have been signed out of the PLAYSTATION Network (80710092)".
I am getting NAT type 'Failed' on the PS3 connection test and it can't connect to the PSN. Both computers in my house work fine on the internet. I can still use the browser on the PS3.
None of the network settings on the PS3 or my router have been changed, so the problem is not at my end."

i get disconnected about 50% of all the times i go online...
its kinda bummer to have broken online service when online service is what i wanted most from PS3...
kinda sukks, just cause its free doesnt mean they should provide half online service...

edit: jujunogo, lol why would i make that up ? im loyal PS3 owner that is having some really big issues... who the fu*k are u to judge me for it ? i do know how to set up internet connections. it worked fine back in summer 07, but ever since then ive not been able to connect 50% of the time, so dont come with that BS that im making this up... u dont know what kind of shiet i've been put up with...

this is some bullshit attempt for someone to make it seem like psn is breaking down like xbox live...I have never had a problem with my psn or any of my psn friends.. i would suggest thou the best connection is NAT 1 the ps3 hooked directly to the modem and oh yea stick to comcast in america if you can

for about two days i had trouble with the PSN. i'm in the US (Chicago)

i couldn't get into video chat but i was online.

i kept getting "NAT type 'Failed'" on the PS3 connection test. i was really busy and didn't have time to call sony but two days later it was ok and has been ever since.

i don't know what the problem was

the NAT thing is something in the setting. I don't really remember. But I had that problem. You basically need to open some ports through the network or enable something like UPND or something I don't remember.

its not psn its the connection u use to connect it to the internet nothing more, i knwo cause i had the exact same problem, but it has to do with your DSL, Cable or ect. not psn at all.

GO to your playstation check your network settings then click on settings and conection status list under the mac address is MTU if it douse nt read 1400 you now need to input that number manualy in internet connections settings so select custom insted of easy once you get to MTU enter 1400 all other setting leave on auto detect. save settings turn of ps3 and reboot you should now be able to conect to psn online note you may need to type in your password again.

ive had the same problemb aol though not orange as they are migrating servers so it work ed for me should work for you of to play burnout online.

I have benn online all day playing COD4. Check your NAT TYPE. Which game are you playing? May be just your carrier having issues or your router. MOST OF THE TIME THESE ISSUE ARE DUE TO THE SETTINGS ON YOU ROUTE. IM A SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER AND KNOW THESE THINGS. This is not a problem with the PSN.

I beleive it is a problem relating to the router or just the person's isp. I've only encountered that once and it was after I installed a new router. But other than that, I'm pleased to say I've been playing warhawk and cod4 online today, no problems whatsoever =)

1.I would like to start out by saying that my psn works fine for me. I have been playing the timeshift mp demo lately and it has been frustrating geting a game started but that's actually the fault of the servers that really suck bad.

PSN has been flawless for me and 51 of my other PSN buddies since Febuary 2007,I just got off playing COD4 and UTIII about two hours ago,I have NEVER experienced any problems on the PSN for almost a year now;)

Last summer, and it was out for a month, but my internet was messed up. I had trouble using the internet, but I couldn't log in to psn at all. It sucked because I had to wait a month to update to 1.9. It's probably little of both,psn and the internet company.

I can tell you several things you should do to fix it.
1.) If it cancels you out just re log on it works every time.
2.) Did you set your WEP Key Address right?
3.) If so did you set the connection to wireless?
4.) Basically look over all your network connections and see if you did anything wrong.
5.) Also you can restart your system and try again when logging on.
Try following this method doesn't matter which order and see if it works.
