Metallica to debut new single via Rock Band?

It was revealed today that rock band Metallica are in talks with Harmonix and MTV concerning the possibility of debuting their latest single from their new album via the upcoming game.

No hint as to which track from the album or when it will appear online was given but this new way of debuting a single is most interesting and bodes well for Rock Band's downloadable content.

It will be terrible.

There are nights when I dream that it was Lars, and not Cliff Burton, that died in that bus wreck. You are correct (at least IMO). All the newer releases from Metallica have been garbage, and that is being too generous of a critique.

The last really good album they released was And Justice for All. The Black Album was OK. Everything after that was pretty much a joke. I remember when James Hetfield said that Saint Anger would bring the band back to its roots. Then I heard it and almost vomited.

Notice in the title I used the picture from Ride the Lightning?? Now that album was a classic.

I agree with both you guys. They should change their name to Lica cause they dropped the Metal a long time ago. They went mainstream after ..And justice for all. The Black album was the first Metallica album were I didn't like every song. That was a sad day in my young life.

I would love to hear the new single but im not going to be suckered into buying rock band to hear it. but to comment on some of the comments above about all of metallicas newer albums being garbage I would have to disagree. Its all a matter of opinion. I would probably be pretty sick of their music if they continued making master of puppets over and over again. But to each their own.

I didnt hate St Anger and it has some songs that would rule live but they need to bring it back. They need 2 go trash metal again and stop being such radio f@gs
