Attach rate from games on the consoles:

PS3: about 3.5
360: about 6.3

On stage, mostly a guitar player has a wired guitar. I really don't see the problem there. Pretty sure Rock Band will do so much better on the 360 then on the PS3.

Ya, But the 360 wireless controller doesn't have a big ol' dongle hanging out of the unit. But the 360 guitar is $20 more. Anyways with as much as me and my wife play Guitar Hero I prefer the wired or else I would need batteries constantly.

It's OFFICIAL! This is going to be a Guitar Hero killer. Price of entry for GH multiplayer $99.99 plus at least $59.99 for another guitar, Most likely $69.99 for the new wireless. For a total of $159.98 or $169.98. With Rock Band you can get a Drum set, a Mic, and a guitar with the game for $169.99. This game is going to kick major ass and with a "Black Friday" release this is going to sell a ass load of units because you know MTV and EA will market the hell out of this game on Black Friday. Best news I have heard in a while.

I will buy GH3 also but only the game because this bundle is to sweet to pass up. Plus the DLC seems to be the focus for Rockband as opposed to the cash grab Activision seems to be leaning towards.

Well that's great news in one respect, but I wanna play both games, and I can't use these guitars in guitar hero :(
Why are activision being so selfish? If EA and MTV can be charitable enough to let the GH controllers be compatible then any producer can!

That's still speculation at this point. The guitars are identical to each other except that the Rock Band has 5 more buttons on the neck that do the exact same thing as the other buttons they are optional if you want to use them for solos. I really don't see anyway it wouldn't work. If the buttons are mapped the same as Guitar Hero then it will work. Unless you can provide a link that says otherwise I wouldn't worry about that. They will work for either game no matter which guitar you have.

I really hope you're right. If you are then I can happily get both games with the awesome controllers. However, EA/Harmonix have been very vocal about the fact you can use either controller, whereas I haven't heard a word about it from Activision, and all rumors have been pointed towards Rock band controllers being incompatible with GH. I just hope that they only are rumors, but I'm bracing myself for the worse.

The PS3 guitar runs on AA batteries, Just so you know. Still not a big deal you can just get the 30 min rechargeable batteries.

Check out what I said in Comment #5, That is why it won't. The only thing Guitar Hero has going for it is the name. The creators of Guitar Hero Harmonix have the game engine and the experience behind Rock Band.

Guitar Hero will be good, But Rock Band is going to be GREAT! Might have to throw a kegger at my place just to see the magic happen...And to see how sturdy the drums truly are, LOL

Did sony hurt you in some way, did one of there electronic devices fall on your head when you were a snot nosed baby?
