EA Ignores Fans' Massive Complains on FIFA 09 Cheating

Cheating on online ranked matches has become a common practice in FIFA 09, more common than in any other game. It has reached such high levels that fans report that almost 30% of online ranked matches result against people using Dream Teams or Edited Teams.

EA once again, did nothing about it.

1.1 - EA...
i reluctantly purchased battlefield 1943 and it was unplayable for two days. bad company has some pretty horrendous servers also....so why does it not surprise me that they do nothing about fifa having cheaters.

they've already made a nice profit on 09 what with it being on every console. so they dont give a sh!t. they'll promise everything will be sorted for fifa 10, everyone will buy it, and it will be exactly the same rubbish on-line.

i dont buy fifa, and later this year, i will wait atleast a month before buying bad company2. if the game suffers like bad company suffers, then it's a no purchase.

I stopped buying there stuff straight away awhile ago. Not even got fight night round 4 yet, but i did get mercs2 for 12 bucks, thats all i'm willing to pay for an EA game.

I played online for 10 games. People pulled the plug at the end when I was winning in 9, but I lost one. I had a record of 1 loss no wins. I stopped playing online.

Fifa 09 the exact same thing happened. I heard a patch fixed it but I wasn't bothered playing online any more.

How long has this glitch been around?

EA Sports has been horrible this Gen, more sports leagues need to shop their licences around. EA Sports has become an embarassment of a Sports gaming company, majority of their titles are unimpressive

I agree Aqua, the cheating has gotten out of control and they arent doing a damn thing about it!

Seriously, where's the competitive nature in cheating? How is cheating fun? I really don't understand the concept.

Yes, I understand that FIFA takes some time to learn, but it's worth it in the end. Just because you get beat, doesn't mean you have to counter with a malicious action such as cheating.

To all you cheaters out there: Learn how to play the game fairly, or don't play at all!

1.7 - I thought this started since 2008?
I only have 08 but the cheatings were just unbearable! a lot and I really mean A LOT of people drew off the game when close to losing and not being recorded in the stats thus leaving me with a very bad stats cause I never cheated but cheated a lot! I also already stopped playing online while still enjoying the more 'honest' offline games! I hope EA will tackle this issue comes 10 because I'm getting it!

A qoute from the first forum link: "Okay, I just played some guy using the dreamteamglitch. He was macclesfield and had torres, ronaldo, kaka, etc. So naturally he won. I was just curious on how to do this glitch. Not that I am going to abuse because I don't care about rank anymore (thanks to the stupid boosters). If anybody knows please tell me. Thanks." If he finds out how to do the glitch I'd say thats one more glitcher. Another thing,I don't think EA is particularly known for patching games after they release, especially when the next game in the franchise is on the horizon. On the plus side they did give us Dead Space.

This is getting ugly, it really is. This isn't your regular cheat here and there, this has become pandemic. You have 3/10 chances to play against a cheater on RANKED matches and they remain unpunished.

I don't know how difficult it could be to check if your team hasn't been edited before starting a new match? Heck EA.

As for Dead Space True.

But remember, no multiplayer/online.

Seems the only Vowels missing from EA is I O U. EA seem to always get away with their debt to gamers...

Just another entity that doesn't understand the true meaning of I O U.

PS. Thought the IOU ref was pretty good btw.

Honestly I haven't really encountered cheaters online for ps3, but I check the top ranked dudes and they use teams I've never heard of before. For the most part I've had a good time online and have managed to get ranked pretty high to the top 1 thousand, but I hope they fix this for those who have had problems. Honestly I will buy FIFA 10 because i still love the games that much even for the single player experience alone. Ea get your sh!t together and support online better please

6 - Is Anyone Actually Surprised?
That EA is ignoring the problem and feverishly at work on FIFA '10? EA does the exact frickin' thing with almost every game they release.

Battlefield Bad Company was and is still plagued by voice chat problems and lag.

FIFA '09 the cheaters have overrun the game. I guess once everyone learns how to stack their teams it'll be at least somewhat even again.

Then I hear that Battlefield 1943 has major issues upon release. Even after boosting the servers PS3 gamers are reporting the same type of voice-chat issues that BFBC had.

Stop supporting crappy EA games!

8 - losing respect for EA with each passing minute
I love EA for there MVP Baseball Series (cancelled due to not having a MLB license), but yea... they're making me sad on a regular basis.
