No HD God of War for PAL release

Unfortunately it has been confirmed to Pro-G that this HD-Mode had to be removed from the PAL release because there simply wasn't enough room on the game disc.

"Whereas the US version still had enough room to incorporate this feature it had to be removed for ours because we had to use the final disc space for localisation (all the extra European languages)," a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe spokesperson told Pro-G.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Not enough disc space!? We use the same discs don't we? :( :( please say they haven't taken out the gore...pleeeease. It's ok for the UK, we can take, don't make Germany spoil our games.

For the languages!! What! So they are running out of space on DVD's...there's your proof there...can't do bloody HD with GOW.

(although thats financially not profitable)

I dunno what the difference will be but PS2 games on an HDTV look washed out so im sure it will have been better.

I will get killed for this but i do feel Blu Ray and extra storage will be needed in a few years.

FULL 720p update on PSN if you please Sony. No rush, I dont get my copy til the 26th so anytime around that weekend would be great.

Seriously, HD GOW playable on PS3 would be in your best interest you know, even if it is a PS2 game. Its actually a stroke of genius. You make a fantastic game for the biggest games market out there but HD on PS3 would give all those gamers a good reason to upgrade.

Really guys, you aren't missing anything - the game looks fantastic which ever way you view it...and I'm an over-obsessively extreme stickler when it comes to visuals and audio.

Enjoy the game. You're gonna absolutely love it.

(Although the some of the Challenges of the Titans are an express ticket to the psychiatric ward.)

The answer we're looking for is NEVER. Plenty of PS2 games have output in progressive. i or p, 480 is still SD.

480p is actually considered ED. I laugh when I see a TV advertised as an EDTV. Marginally better than SD but HD it ain't.

Your not missing anything. Trust me. I have a 61" 1080p samsung dlp and couldnt tell the difference... its not HD. Enjoy the game; its fun.
