Thursday Metal Gear Announcement is....

Examiner: "Konami has revealed the Metal Gear Solid announcement for today. Thus far for the week, Konami told us on Monday that we would be getting announcements everyday of the week. Tuesday we were told about the Greatest Hits edition of Metal Gear Solid 4, and yesterday we were told about the Shadow Moses Metal Gear Online map and that Snake is now a playable character. All stuff we previously knew about. Today, we have another announcement."

Perfect way to end the week. Trophy update just makes so much sense at this point. Greatest Hits is released, they are trying to get people back into MGO, so add Trophy support and everyone will play the game again.

I haven't played MGS4 since I first got it a year ago. I was waiting for trophies. The game was easily one of the top five games I've ever played. Trophies would only enhance that.

yeah I have not played the game...purposely...since last summer hoping for a trophy patch...and simply to try to forget a lot of it so it felt kind of new when i played it again...I did beat the game on the hardest setting, but never did the ridiculous run through in 5 hours or whatever, to get that bandana or something...because when i finally do it, there better be some trophies awarded for it...

fell into the opposite trap with Uncharted...because I finally beat the game on crushing and unlocked every in game award...then get the trophy patch and find out I have to do it all over again...i'll eventually do it (hopefully before Uncharted 2 releases)...

I still wish Sony would have had the trophy stuff figured out before the first game even released for the PS3...but whatever...now everything has it...and MGS4 is really the only game left that I hope gets it patched in...the good news is that konami responded to constant trophy questions with 'we know what MGS4 fans want' a few months ago...but we'll have to see if they are correct...

the rumors of that may never go away...but Kojima and Konami have ALWAYS stated MGS4 is not in development for the 360...and being its already a year old, it simply won't happen anymore...the window for the game is going away, and with new MG games already announced...those have top priority right now...

add that onto the fact that Rising is NOT using the MGS4 engine...and its even more apparent...if they are not building any MGS4 engine'd games on the 360, a port would be even more unlikely...that engine is simply nuts, and built from the ground up for the PS3...I know porting to the 360 is pretty 'easy', but if it was happening, we would have already heard about it...

Don't give me this Konami/Kojima <3s USA over UK BS. You must not play MGO to know that the UK region was given a free 50,000 reward points to buy gear with while the USA only got 10,000.

It is/was a giant slap in the face for us who play the game stateside. :(

If trophies aren't announced tomorrow, this game will never get them.

This is an ideal time to announce them. I also doubt there will be a substance version coming out either. But if there is, that will get trophies...only because all games released now require them.

I'd love trophies but it isn't likely.

Trophies suck!!!!, how come people never use to ask for trophies in the PS2 days HECK! forget that even when the PS3 launched NO ONE wanted trophies but then as soon as Sony made it standard in every game people then all of a sudden start asking for it?

I used to think that way...and I am by no means playing games that I don't want to simply to rack up trophies...but for an absolutely awesome game, the trophies are something cool on top of it...makes you do some stuff that you otherwise wouldn't...and definitely adds replay value imo...and Kojima/Konami would come up with some awesome trophies I would imagine...some easy, some hard, some hilarious...the in game awards are already like that, but i would love to look through my list of friends on the PSN and see what they have unlocked and what they haven't...
