Guitar Hero hits $2 billion in sales

Bobby Kotick said in the Activision Blizzard Q1 earnings call last night that Guitar Hero sales have no passed $2 billion.

The franchise is only the third to do so, the other two being Madden and Mario.

The milking of these kinds of games in such a short period makes me think that Activision and EA do not see the success of the games lasting much longer. For example most such as myself whom have purchased the plastic equipment as well do not need to get that again, just the disc from now on.
