The scarier Resident Evil 4 version

This is a video depicting levels in Resident Evil 4 that featured a creepier and darker atmosphere not available in the final version. This version of the game is called the "Hooked Man Version." The Hooked Man is the most notable enemy in this version of the game, and he was intended to be a recurring enemy much like Nemesis. This version of RE4 was reportedly so scary that Shinji Mikami himself warned gamers with a famous quote "Don't pee your pants." The version was ditched because it was too paranormal for the Resident Evil plot.

5 - A scarier version???

How was this video scary? Ok, maybe since they were going to use the original camera angles and that leon had to shoot the ghost/zombie hybrid 20 times and was brought down to critical health was scary. The screen turned blue when monsters(toy babies) were in it so I guess Leon had Spidey sense. The page where this vid came from someone complains that this game looked far better than the version of RE4 that we got...Of course it's easier to make good graphics when the only thing you interact with are paintings and doors. The thought of being confined to a small room and a hallway that you can't even see anything but the corner is scary. Those little knife babies from the ps3 commercial were stupid. If this was the version we got I would have pulled a Leon and just dropped grenades at my feet, except in real life so i'd die before ever playing this piece.

I agree with you, and I'll go even further and doubt that this piece of crap is true. I want proof, why would they do paranormal stuff when the developers know it's all about science in Resident Evil, just a big waste of time and money. Let us see this interview that was mentioned from a reliable source.

Like you said Resident Evil is more about Science then Paranormal activity... The T-virus that turned everyone into zombies was from Umbrella who was a multi-national "Medical" company... (Sorry played every game loved them except the camera angles cheap and I hate the movies) I think they wanted to stay with the original theme which I think is pretty cool.. Cant wait for re5 scary!!! wonder who the main guy is cousin says Cris Redfield .. who knows cant wait.

I understand how it looks kool and all of that and as a gamer I can appreciate that.
BUT
Resident Evil is more science based, if they do this I think it will just go downhill and it will be alot more paranormal in the later games and it would take away from the game.

This definitely looks awesome. I think Capcom underestimated how popular this could be. Sure RE4 was a success but maybe as someone mentioned an RE4: Director's Cut that has this as an offshoot story.

would it be a stretch to believe that the top dog at umbrella is involved in the occult and is receiving revelation from demons/evil spirits? Maybe the T-virus makes beings susceptible to possession by spirits...

Just a few thoughts on how they could incorporate the paranormal/supernatural if they wanted to.

12 - if you watch the early vids(i still got it on my computer)

you would have saw it years ago.but he decided to scrap the previous version of resident evil 4 and start over.there was this dark black mist choking leon and the hook guy in the hallway.but oh well.

same with resident evil 2 being changed.and devil may cry was going to be resident evil 4.but hideki kamiya (i'm going to miss that guy-he was part of clover and left the company) created DMC and helped create RE 2.that's why i liked that game too.tons of zombies to shoot over number 1).he came up with a better game because he likes action games.

so now you know.there's more than one version of these games.the final choice is what we got on shelves.

ps..i forgot. p.n03 for cube was changed from a gun action game to a girl that dances and shoots energy from her hands.the firt build looked like devil may cry in the future.i know capcom trys to keep their games from being the same,but it would have been cool to have the first build.
