This is a pretty solid list. Drakan...what to say? I bought it way back when it was new on the PS2 and it's an amazing game. Tonnes of exploratory ability and many many many things to do. A relatively open world to explore and it's hard. I've long since beaten the game, but it's awesome and I'd wholly recommend it to people.

Haunting Ground is coolness and even supports 480p. A great game overall.

Zone of the Enders 2 is a no brainer. Great game with tonnes of playability and repeatedly critically acclaimed. There's no reason not to get it.

Like I need to say anything to support Metal Slug. A classic arcade property, the series rules for fans of platforming/shooting games with tonnes of humour thrown in.

A good list provided, one of the better ones given lately. Go Racketboy for showing these unexposed games to the public. Maybe they'll get some attention.

Me and a friend repleyed the arena mode over and over. Never gets boring =)

I can recommend you to check out Urban Reign as well. It's best played in co-op.

... is Global Defence Force in that list?!

Seriously, that really was a PS2 hidden gem. It's incredibly hard to get hold of, but it's excellent.

(basically it's the PS2 version of the 360 game Earth Defence Force - But the PS2 version is better!)

Great list and not just because I own most of these. /brag

Prime reason I kept my PS2. I plain get the most gaming value out of it (and my PC). The nextgen three haven't come anywhere close to unseating it in my own little world.

Haven: Call of the King
Awesome platformer/action adventure in the vein of Jak series, LOTS to do.

Global Defence Force
Palewing FTW, also; greatest trick if you played the end of Monster Attack.

Monster Attack
Has some frame rate issues, but is a history lesson in EDF series.

Serious Sam: The Next Encounter
Not made by Croteam, but if you get up to 'The Tower of Babel', you'll be intregued it wasn't; just ignore all the 'Mental' stuff in the cinematics.

Eve Of Extinction (EOE)
Your girlfriends soul is merged into a light-sabre, agents are after her. Brilliant.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto
British humour at its best.

Destroy All Humans!
The first is great too. Less sandbox'y if you played the second.

Rollcage + Wipeout + Burnout + Twisted Metal + Jak2 = JakX
Quality racer. Like a very dark Crash Team Racing.

Shadow of Memories
Personally; the best use of time travel in a game for years.

Shadow of Rome
Basically Gladiator: The Game Capcom Style. Many arenas and mingames, you can beat a guy with his own leg, fantastic.

Psychonauts was a terrific game.
Glad some people played it.
It really should have done better, i love those kind of games.

Very good list tho, they have given me more reasons to go back to my ps2 since yakuza 2.
