Sega Reassures Fans Concerned about Sonic Unleashed Quality

From Strategy Informer: "Strategy Informer recently reported that the PlayStation 3 version of Sonic Unleashed has been delayed in North America until December. The Xbox 360, Wii and PS2 version of the game will still be released on 28th November.

"We asked Sega for a explanation on why the PlayStation 3 version has been delayed, and they sent us a statement about the release date outside of Japan, and to reassure fans that were worried about the quality between versions of the game released in Japan and the versions released outside of Japan."

1 - I dont have faith in this title AT all. A Sonic Werewolf? Please(!)
I've said it before and I've said it again: the best Sonic games in history are the first 2 Megadrive games, and Sonic CD. That's it.

They need to just make a 2d-sprite-based Sonic platformer (not a racer like all these current titles seem to be) in the spirit of those first few games. That's all.

It would look dropdead gorgeous in HD 2d sprite-based graphics, and 2d platforming was always a great genre, so I have no idea why they traded that in for 3d platforming. It should be able to exist side-by-side.

It looks like they might get sonic to work this time!

If anyone cares... I got tired of trying to pass the "Post news test" but on Metacritic.com, they have a Dec. 1st release date for Final Fantasy XIII on Ps3 that just went up recently!

...out of existence. I'd just don't want him to die arbitrarily...but I do want him to be gone for a LONG time if this game sucks.

That makes no sense at all. They don't release it in Japan because of timing, but they release it in the US in the midst of MUCH superior titles. Yeah... Right.

Oh, and that Sega rep's comments say nothing about why the PS3 version was delayed. Only why the game was delayed in Japan.

finally this delay is actually good for Sony. They will not have to tolerate this turd as much as 360 fans (a month difference, lol)

It seems no one cares about Sonic anymore.
After Sonic 06, no one seems to give a sh!t about Sonic.

Not a lot of people are giving this game a chance.
I'm sure it will fail, just because of that.

Trust me, this game is going to get plenty of bad reviews, I'm positive.
I don't want it to fail, but I know it will be reviewed bad, just because it is Sonic.

This game is a step in the right direction, but I don't know if it will make it there. Still too much of the game is playing itself - your constantly pushed through speed boosts and bumpers and while it looks cool, you aren't even playing half the time. Then the added QTE events further take play out of your hand. Plus, no one wants this werewolf BS or these stupid side kicks. Sonic, Tales, Knuckles, Eggman. Maybe Amy. Only characters you need.

Nonetheless, good to see them at least partially returning to 2D-style gameplay.

15 - i really do want this game to do at least relatively well.
I remember back in the day when it was all about mario vs sonic and what not, back in the times when games were old school - and i loved the sh!t out of it.

These days its to much about tie ratios, sales figures, constant AAA reviews etc... I am really the only one that thinks it kinda just sucks the fun and life out of the whole thing in the long run?

I mean when was the last time anyone came on here and had a genuinely decent conversation about a game. None of the system wars crap, sales, or anything else, that should only really matter to the games companies. Damn that would be bliss to just be able to talk to another gamer about good fun games.
