Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for PS2 US release confirmed

Rumours earlier in the week that Square-Enix was planning to reveal a US release of the PS2 remake of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories at this week's Gamestop manager convention have turned out to be true.

It now transpires that today Square-Enix has revealed this as fact, with sources from Gamestop and elsewhere confirming that the Final Mix version of the GBA classic finally heading to US Shores - but as a standalone title without Final Mix. Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for PS2 will hit this holiday season with a price tag of $29.99.

Updates:

UPDATE: RPGSite has been in touch with Square-Enix Europe this morning in an attempt to confirm a European release of this title. Confimation of a UK and EU release is, at this moment "tbc." Square-Enix Europe representatives at this minute are "unaware" of any plans to bring the game to EU shores.

they'd have to reconfigure it to a PS3 binary. And that would take a lot more time and development resources, considering it uses the kingdom hearts 2 engine.

because they aren't doing the final mix. the US sold more KH than in japan why the hell are they getting the final mix. i would have loved to play the complete version of KH2.. and i've already played the GB version so i'll skip this... sorry but i dont just want the remake, Bring us the final mix as well. this Sh*t is getting annoying. cater to the NA and EU markets if you want to be bigger.

Square is really sucking these days. OH well.

u act like this is the first time japan has made us wait for good stuff not to mention their taking the extras out i mean come on its freaking insane personally if they wantd to make more money they should give every1 the same items the same year at least its not that hard all they have to do is change the launguage for every1 english japanese ect n mass produce n send them all out that way they would have more time to make the sequels n stop making us wait for the old stuff i mean kingdom hearts is a great game its top game for ps2 in my mind but seriously we need to get wat japan gets at least the same year they do

Not squaresoft.. My personal opinion is that it wasn't translated as well as most of the sqauaresoft was, and was a bit generic

I Live in Australia were the 60 gig B/C is limited because they removed the PS2 Emotion Engine, it mainly runs on a PS2 emulator which is not perfect.

^ MAYBEEEEE... But why not take the last shot over the end PS2 lifespan and release it over US and Europe I mean the game its on English(I mean the VA) so why not give a shot. The masses of KH fans will buy it without a single doubt... or maybe S-E its going pack the game into a BluRay and twist a little the game engine to work on the PS3? (< Yeah, I can dream ins't? but I know it won't happen that 4 sure).

Great news but seriously why couldn't they have brought Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ (which included both KH2 Final Mix 2 and KH RE:Chain of Memories on separate DVD's) to US. I'll most likely get this but come on give my KH2 Final Mix.

like, why not the PSN as a lot of ppl here says? i don't even have a PS3 but, it's stupid to lauch it on the PS3, heck, even if it lauched on the Wii it's a better option, any console of this generation would be ok, but a last-gen, just like persona.
