Free petrol stunt (Mercenaries 2 promotion) causes chaos

Chris Irvine of Telegraph writes: "A petrol station which gave away free fuel has been temporarily shut down after motorists flocking to its pumps caused traffic chaos.

Electronic Arts were giving away £20,000 worth of fuel at the station on Stapleton Hall Road, near Finsbury Park, north London, as part of a promotion for a new video game.

But the stunt angered residents and local politicians for causing gridlock during the morning rush hour."

One would think that a city (in any country) would require a permit for such a thing, almost in the same manner that they require a permit for TV and Film crews. I am sure they saw this coming.

As long as the activity is on private property and not illegal they can do what they like. There's no law against a seller giving away products for free
