2.1 - Sadly enough however...

I fear it is due to the hardcore folks that did not step up and purchase the last two Nintendo consoles that have turned them into what they are today. Mad World and Dead Rising will be nice additions to No More Heros and the like but honestly, I blame the same crowd that Ninty is turning their backs on for what Nintendo has become today. They just decided to go with their bread and butter this time... The casuals.

The hardcore fan base of Nintendo isn't enough to keep them in the business. If Nintendo had made an expensive console similar to PS3 and Xbox360, the company would have failed. Three similar consoles cannot coexist because of the low numer of hardcore gamers and high costs in software developing.

It's foolish to blame Nintendo for doing the only thing it could do to succeed.

I think thats a half truths.
i dont think of hardcore like everyone else.
Hardcore doesnt mean hd graphics,bluray,trophies,achei vements,movie rentals,mature ratings,etc.
to me hardcore means that you have to be a "fan" of the game to completely understand and appreciate it.
Say you like metal gear solid 4.You have to know the backround to understand the game.Only the hardcore buy the game because casuals dont understand it.

Hardcore just means that the game is built with the "fan" in mind.First and for most.

but the definition of hardcore is something abstract! as for MGS4, I've never played any MGS games before but I bought MGS4 and totally loving it! the story? I read everything here:

I can't believe myself buying let alone playing MGS4 but what can I say? a great game is a GREAT game! I'm going to finish it for the 3rd time!!

we can't actually say that PS3 and 360 gamers are hardcore! what about a 'hardcore' fan of Nintendo who buys a lot of Nintendo and only Nintendo games? that's also hardcore, right? how about someone playing with PS eye, singstar and Buzz on PS3? are they hardcore just because they play on PS3? I'm a PS3 and PC gamer myself but I'm more a casual gamer! that's not because I only play the so called 'casual' games, heck I HATE WII!! but because I play my games casually - like 3-4 times per week and 2-3 hours each! I think the moderate term for this argument is serious games gamer vs non-serious games gamer! LAME but maybe that's just me! anybody agree? no?

I was just watching(3 minutes ago) some new Resident Evil 5 footage from G4's E3 coverage and I was thinking to myself WTF happend to this? it looked much better the other day(NO JOKE) and then I seen prompts to hit PS3 buttons. For real R5 looks like Sh8t on the PS3 its missing so much and is very bland.

On topic MGS4 was the Halo of the PS3 lol.

This is not about games you dumbf*ck. How about reading the article for a change instead of talking about things that are off-topic?

The 360 needs a real pricecut and soon, otherwise it's going to plummet to third place. But knowing Microsoft, they'll never do that because they're too busy trying to bag exclusives instead of focusing on first party and reasonable pricecuts.

Ps3 will not win this gen.Its numbers are so far off the ps2 at the same time in its life cycle,its not even funny.

The wii is actually beating the ps2 sales at the same time in its life cycle.

Sony isnt even making a profit off its systems,while xbox is beating them in software sales(which is where the real money is),how is the ps3 gonna win when their hardware sales dont even matter due to production cost of making it?

mgs4 was a great boost for them,and honestly right now its game of the year.......but while the fact of the matter is ps3 beating xbox doesnt mean sh!t,liek the article says in june sony still couldnt sell more then the wii and the wii didnt have a first party title that month.

Wii might be a toy to you guys compared to the ps3 and xbox and you are right if you think of the specs,but just like the guy who invited the "pet rock" they are rich motherfukcers and we are not.

The big problem for pS3 to attain number of the ps2 is its reliability.
Unlike its predecessor, it seems it can last longer, not forced to buy 2 or 3 console.
