Response from PSU:

"Basically a little over a month ago, PSU.com was hacked through our forums, PS3forums.com, and the hackers caused server slow downs, crashes, and even uploaded malicious software to the site. Some people may remember this, some not.

Anyways, we fixed the site, got our servers upgraded and redid alot of our back end coding to help the site run faster, especially for E3.

We've been doing just fine lately, and covered E3. However, Google must have done a scan during the time we were hacked, and that is the reason for this "Reported As" page."

I'm a part of the PS3Forums. Its a shame they teamed up with PSU.com. I never liked the website much at all. I wont be visiting it anymore (although i dont really visit it much now heh) After the GT5:Prolouge lies about damage i disregarded this site.

I recommened Playfire.com

I went there last night and it came up in the bottom right of my screen that my computer was being attacked. I ask for details and it said it was high risk. To bad I liked to go there for PS3 themes.

Yeah but some previewer said there was already damage in prologue, and they obviously hadn't played the game. I think it was this site.

It is indeed sad. I used to enjoy going there often, and I worked with the site owners and Justin.

They didn't do this intentionally, of that I'm sure.

1.5 - This is surely a mistake
or a one time thing like a hack .. the guys at PSU are really nice and helpful, i could not see this as part of their model.

but i am sure whoever posted this doesn't give a dang and would just want people to stop going there and visit some skank blog instead .. that the problem with this kind of "journalism" no one contacted PSU to ask WTF was going on before posting this.

I'm pretty upset. PSU is where I work, and this really hurts us in terms of trust from our readers. From reading comments, a lot of people think the PSU staff is behind it....which we aren't of course.

Before coming to N4G, I used to get ALL of my news from PSU.com and before eventually leaving the site, I used to always have trouble using the site about 3 weeks before joining N4G. Sometimes whenever I would go to the site, the webpage would freeze and there were a bunch of other issues so I just decided to just leave PSU because there were just too many problems occuring. Then almost everytime I used to go to PSU.com, a Security message would pop up on my computer.

Anyways, N4G is the place to be to get all the latest breaking gaming news, period. I enjoyed PSU.com, but N4G is the place to be.

Isn't VGChartz in the same boat? I've personally had them try to install "anti-spyware" software onto my computer.

I've only been to PSU a handful of times, ran too slow for me to visit it regularly.

The page that may have contained malicious software may be somewhere located in the PSU Themes section as the themes are user uploaded. We are looking into the matter.

Hey guys, This is NoUseMerk/Justin Pinter, senior journalist at PSU.com

So...as you all know, Google has pretty much screwed us over.

A month ago PSU was hacked through the PS3forums, causing server slow downs, crashes, and the malicious software that Google has now reported us as.

We fixed the problem within a week of the hack, but Google must have scanned us during that time. As you saw, we were fine during E3...we fixed all the problems that occurred a while back...so this kind of hit us at really bad time.

We have contacted Google about it, and we hope to be back up within a couple days. We are sorry for the inconvenience and as you probably can tell, we are very upset over at PSU. Talk about the worst timing.

I don't understand why everybody thinks they are automatically at fault. That's like blaming limewire because you downloaded a virus instead of a song.

From google's page.

Has this site hosted malware?

No, this site has not hosted malicious software over the past 90 days.

How did this happen?

In some cases, third parties can add malicious code to legitimate sites, which would cause us to show the warning message.

I'm guessing most people just read the title and left it at that without even looking for more info.

No I'm not some PSU flamer that wants to destroy anything that is Playstation Universe.

I'm a person that has always enjoyed psu.com. I have two themes on psu that are in the top downloaded.(playb3yond, and Vista). The reason for this post was one for informing PSU and potential website users of the problem, so that there can be resolution to the problem - not to mention prevention. This news post was for the overall good of psu. I want to help (are you listening Jpinter a.k.a. NoUseMerk/Justin Pinter?)

As many may know, sending an email just doesn't get things done. Emails sometimes get ignored or just put on the back burner. Sometimes things need some attention to get things going.

Google, can we get this resolved in a timely fashon so we can get back to enjoying psu? I don't and am sure others don't want to be taken to a warning page saying there is a security issue on their favorite destination site. Clearly GOOGLE requires some fixing on their side.

PSU is a fine site, it was just some gay xbots that thought it would be funny to hack it and upload some dodgy Sh*t cause they got nothing better to do, sad really.
