sony are lucky that europe stayed with them, and the 360 never even arrived in japan. the ps3 is getting hammered by nintendo at home! it's unbelievable how far sony have fallen this gen!....they wont be selling 120mil ps3s thats for sure!b

sony and x360 were 'hammered' in the usa, i believe...they sold nearly three quater's of a million...never mind by how much worldwide... now if only psp performed like that elsewhere... where are the casual games for PSP...

Can someone please tell me, how these numbers come about? at best these are estimates. but even estimates have to be somewhat educated and have a sort of basis.

They just get their data from Famitsu, and put their own spin on it, they get their japanese data like about a day ago, and input it so it looks close to this:

This is actually not true. VGC gets its data the exactly the same way as Famitsu and MediaCreate does.

Not to mention the fact that one of the analysts on the site posts a preview to the Japanese data (which is usually very accurate) before any other Japanese figures are out.

the estimates do have quite a big leverage that it looks half assed, i.e.psp will sell between, 70,000 and 100,000, they were right but...

wow the ps3 needs to release some rpg's or something because they need to pick up in japan. The ps3 is doing great everywhere else, but japan damn, need to work on that.

Sony is so friggin focused on the US and EURO they're ignoring the Japanese market.
All they need to do is release some damn games for the console over there and they'll be riding nice.
The PS3 in Japan has been out the longest and has the weakest software library of all the regions. There is nothing on the Japanese '08 that's massively appealing other than MGS4.
I don't know who is in charge of Japan, but they need to seriously get their head out of their @ss and do some actual work!

they desperately need a decent JRPG like FF.
it could stimulate the japanese market, but with the way Wii has taken over out there i'd be surprised if it had a huge enough boost in it to jumpstart a ps3 market. a lot comes down to how mgs performs, coz if that wont push sales in japan, FF wont fare much better.

i dont think sony is really trying out there because they are already dominating Microsoft. 8000-1000 sales though is hardly y'know like WOW though.
