Euro Rock Band Instrument Pack: no game included

VG247: According to IGN, the European Rock Band Instrument Pack will not include an actual copy of the game.

"Unlike the US, which received a Special Edition that includes the game, a Fender Strat guitar, the drum kit and a mic, all for $169 – Europe will only get an Instrument Edition priced £129.99 / 169 Euros, including the three peripherals but not the game – which, bought separately, will set you back £49.99 / 69.99 Euros." The article says. "So...

4 - You can buy a brand new 360 for £180 on Amazon.co.uk
So how can they charge that for a game?!

4.1 - What the +*&%
How can they justify such a high price for Europe.

I hope they change there mind and through in a game with the £129 bundle otherwise there is no way this game is going to sell.

This price is just FACKIN insane! I've been wating for this game for a long time, BUT THERE'S NO WAY IN HELL IM GOING TO PAY 240 EUROS!!!

Edit: And btw, who is behind this outrageous pricing? EA's only the publisher, so MTV? In that case MTV can eat my sh*t.

EA decide the pricing not MTV or whoever is developing in.

Pricing, Release date, marketing etc is done by the publisher not developer

8 - FCUK YOU EA!!!!
They make us wait 7 months, and then completely rip us off! EA YOU SUCK!!!!

It'd be cheaper to import Rock Band from the states, and buy the game over in the UK. You could even sell the US version of the game you get on US Ebay and make some cash back there!

I can't believe they won't even include the game in the pack!????? NO GAME IN THE PACK!?? What's the fcuking point???

With Army of Two, Battlefield TC and now this, I'm seriously thinking to flashing my X360 and copy all EA games just to rip those fockers off. See how they like it then!!!

Agree. This is pretty awful. Is there any point not including the game in the pack? Are they trying to trick people regarding the actual cost? They're going to have some many returns from people bemused that they've purchased a bunch of useless plastic toys.

Regarding importation, does the hardware have any kind of region restriction (X360)? Like you said, if it's feasible, I'll research purchasing a bundle from the US and the game from the UK.

9 - WTF?!
169€ and I still won't get the god damn game?! that makes $265 in the US... isn't that more if you bought a special edition and a second guitar there? and more than the console (360 pro)? and if I also happen to want to play the game (and not just play with the sounds that come from the controllers) I have to pay 240€? that's like getting an used 360 here... the american developers and producers are already making huge money here with video games because dollar is so cheap. Why do they still need to make us pay more and also... WAIT MORE?

Lots of stores in Sweden will sell a complete package (game, one guitar, one mic and one drum set) for about 2000 SEK. That's about 213€.
http://www.prisjakt.nu/prod... (PS3)
http://www.prisjakt.nu/prod... (360)

And by the way. Due to the low dollar value you can't just convert the price to dollar and compare. The retail price of 2000 SEK have been the same for months now. Long before the dollar sank to this level.

We have to start using Geary-Khamis dollar for fare comparison.

First Activision screw us by not making the GH3 guitar compatible with Rock Band.

Now EA/MTV screw us Europeans with the Rock Band pricing.

It's not so much the overall cost, which is a bit higher than I'd like, it's the dollar to Pound conversion which sticks in my throat.

Another example of Europe getting shafted. I thought the days of excessive Euro release delays were gone. I was just hoping the 1 dollar = 1 Pound craziness was also going to diminish.

I imagine the EA line will be something like 'The Rock Band bundle represents fantastic value for money compared to buying each peripheral separately. The price may a little higher than expected due to currency fluctuations, import costs and local taxes which are out of EA's control'.

E.A. are the devil incarnate.

They think they can charge the earth as the demands there. The fact they are ripping us all off doesn't even figure into there equations.

That they are the devil cannot be disputed - I worked for them and it was really hell. Really!:)
