MGS3: Snake Eater Servers Going Offline Next Month

In another move to kill off the online capabilities of the PlayStation 2, Konami has recently announced that the online multiplayer component for Metal Gear 3: Subsistence will be no more as of April 2 this year.

"The last day of online service for Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence in North America will be April 2nd. Konami sincerely thanks all of the Subsistence online community for their dedication to the game and support of the Metal Gear Solid series."

You realize this closing happened LAST april...lmao

It was a great game though, by far most fun MP i ever experienced. I logged probably 500 hours on it.

what does a sony server has to do with anything? As long as the servers arent as useless as the pro evolution soccer servers we should be fine

What in the world is going on here? Original MGO servers were closed a year ago.... is this just a recap or did they missed the memo?...

or is there any NA servers online? I know EU servers are shutdown long ago so are Asians servers... some1 clear things up =P

I remember perfectly when MPO was going to come out is when they mention that in April 02 was the last day of MGO and all thought it was an April fools day but it turns to be true...

Well, with MGS 4 coming out soon, I can understand their decision to shut the MGS 3 servers down, especially when the game is on a last gen console (PS2). They probably want to focus all their efforts on the PS3, and all credit to them. As the saying goes: out with the old, in with the new.
