i don't know why....i definitely won't be getting it. i don't care if its only $40. there's WAY too many games out that i haven't finished yet and i wouldn't dare waste my valuable gaming time on a year-old port of an, at its best, average game.

those are some low numbers, i hope capcom gets the hint though releasing a port from a year ago wont get a good reaction maybe you should do ps3 at the same time if you want to sell in japan.

4.1 - well let me ask you all this.
If Gears was ported over to the PS3 would you guys not buy it either. I've heard many people call it garbage although I know they were just hating. But it is a curiosity since gears is a year old and a port, would PS3 fans pass on it?

No I wouldn't. Who hasn't been to a friend's house that had this game a year ago and played the hell out of it? Trying to bring something which is old and dated already is stupidity at its finest.

The only genre I can really see year old ports being successful are RPGs. My friends are cool, but they aren't that cool to let me sit in their living room and play their Xbox solo for hours on in.

Yeah, if GeOW came out on the PS3, I'd take a pass on it. That is, unless it was the PC version with a little bit more things added to sweeten the deal. I like GeOW on the 360, but that game was too damned short.

Glad to see BioShock doing not so bad being a western FPS and on 360. Sad to see Burnout doing not so good.
And why isn't NiGHTs remake selling on PS2?

Lost Planet is a horrble game and I don't see why ppl would buy a year old port Capcom should take notice , besides there are more fun online experiences to be had on the PS3

Etrian Odyssey is that the game where you draw your own map of the dungeon?

8 - Well, why be surprised by LP sales numbers?
According to this, they only shipped max 25k copies of the game...so Capcom wasn't exactly expecting it to sell like hotcakes... ;)

Anyways, thats the treatment all year old ports should get, specially if they come from Capcom.

12 - On Lost Planet
I think Lost Planet is seen as a silly western shooter. Remember that the Japanese don't take well to shooters, and given the LP was put on the 360 (A western console) there's hesitation to pick it up. When it's released for the PS3 in Europe/North America, it will do much better. Probably 1+ Million copies in first 9 months for both regions.

Bioshock is a shock that it's sold that much so far. Again, it's sales are gimped on part because of a low 360 penetration. However given that it's a shooter-RPG with a damn good story, the sales will probably pick up in the next few months when word of mouth makes the rounds.

Interesting enough Lost Plant is almost completely aimed at the Japanese crowd from the fact that the story is anime like(Mix between Shonen and Mech), the character design is also VERY anime like(various villains with bizarre designs and characteristics), it also has mechs from here to eternity and even japanese favorites..transformable mechs! and you know japanese love them mechs XD

Plus if you remember the 360 version sold pretty well (well if you consider the "install base and bla bla") and if you play in Live you find a lot of japanese players and some rooms are even ONLY Japanese one! o.O

17 - Well, actually there is an advantage to releasing Lost Planet port.
You know guys, even after a game has been release for a year, it still generates income for the company, example would be things like Resistance Fall of Man, it still selling more than a couple thousands a month generating a steady revenue for the company in the long run.

The 2nd advantage is more of a business strategy, because usually when you release a sequel later on, you will get the 2nd sale effect; especially if the sequel is good and its a continuation of the story of the first game.

We have seem this with God of War, when GoW 2 came out, GoW 1 raced back up to the top 10 list for several weeks. So when they release LP2 if the PS3 version is available, people will wanna pick it up for the "complete experience".

Similar sales boost also happened to Metal Gear Solid Series whenever a new one came out.

If Gears came out a year later to the PS3 people would buy it because it is a classic game that has broaden that genre and will be a game to define this "next-gen" era. Lost Planet is a joke. A subpar game that sold because of the lack of any other serious titles besides Gears. Thats why Saints Row and Dead Rising were able to sell. You think any of those games would have a chance today with all the games available for both systems. Even games like Crackdown were able to sell with a gimmick like Halo 3 beta, because if you were an "early adopter" you buy games to warrant your purchase and anything that appears alright will be purchased.
