TNG: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 Review

TNG writes: "If nothing else, Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha Vs. King Abaddon is the top contender for the longest title of the year award. Apart from having a lengthy title, Devil Summoner 2 is also another reason to dust off the Playstation 2 or make use of the Playstation 3's backward compatibility. It doesn't live up to the recent Persona games in terms of storyline or gameplay, but the addictive demon fusing mechanics that the Shin Megami Tensei series is known for is as addictive as ever. Fans of the first game and fans of the Shin Megami Tensei series in general should find something to like here, but it's not likely to draw many fresh faces to the well respected series. For everything that this game does right, it does a couple of things wrong. It's the type of game that will cause a rift between JRPG fans. The hardcore crowd is likely to sink an immense amount of time into the demon fusing portion of the game, whereas the casual crowd will be too bored with the narrative to care about which demons are available to them."
