J'accuse! - Kingdom Hearts II

A fanboy's dream becomes a twisted nightmare.

Kingdom Hearts, in all its innocence, had a shedload of problems. It may have received 91% from that most maligned of independent publications, Play magazine, but it was more flawed than a Jim Davidson editorial in The Gay Times. It was Square Enix, trying its hand at real-time; it was never going to end brilliantly. The sequel, however, managed to bugger everything up.

Although Kingdom Hearts II should've corrected the first game's mistakes, it actually pissed additional problems into the chamber pot. The combat was diluted, to the point where the player could bash X throughout the entire game, without dying. Sure, the camera had been fixed – the right stick is a fine substitute for the shoulder buttons, after all – but this is the only change that we can speak highly of.
