VGChartz writes: "Vgchartz data for the Americas, which covers more than just USA sales, is already available for the five week period. The five week period includes the launch of PS3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4, Guitar Hero: On Tour for DS, Ninja Gaiden 2 for Xbox 360, and Lego Indiana Jones on multiple platforms, and Battlefield: Bad Company on PS3 and Xbox 360 among others. The three exclusives and two versions of Lego Indiana Jones are among the top ten sellers for the month. Also included in the top ten are Grand Theft Auto IV (360), Wii Fit (Wii), Wii Play (Wii), Mario Kart (Wii) and the Xbox 360 version of Battle Field: Bad Company. All ten titles sold over 200,000 units in the Americas.
For June we expect NPD to report the following:
-Nintendo DS managed to top Wii and all other platforms with USA sales of over 750,000. Wii also sold over 700,000 in the USA this month.
- Metal Gear Solid 4 was the top seller for the month. It sold over 650,000 units in the USA.
-Lifetime Wii hardware sales should be close to 500,000 units ahead of lifetime Xbox 360 hardware sales by the NPD USA tally.
Hardware sales for the month show a DS reaping the benefits of targeted advertising to women and the usual June bump that occurs when kids get out of school.
