Sonic: Unleashed "recaptures the speed and spirit of the classic games." - IGN Preview

IGN writes:

"Having watched SEGA reps zip through two beautiful looking stages filled with classic 2D-esque loops and corkscrews in addition to fully 3D cities, we can optimistically state that Sonic is finally back.

In our opinion, the Sonic series has always played best with linear level design -- the sheer speed of the character is better let loose into an environment created specifically to nurture it. Unleashed does feature straightforward linear-style stages -- run forward as fast as you can -- but Sonic Team has given you a few choices, too. One of the stages demoed to us, for example, boasted upward of a dozen branching pathways. In some cases, a quick button-press sequence displays on-screen and you have to tap in the order of the sequence in order to take the high road, as it were.

We're definitely psyched about what we saw and can't wait to get our hands on a 360, PS3 or Wii controller to try everything out for ourselves."
