"PS3 - Issues with PS3 development are largely overblown by internet "experts" and folks with an axe to grind. Face it, any new platform is going to present challenges and the PS3 is no different from the 360 in that regard. We've had over a year's head start getting experience on the 360, but Propaganda has extremely talented coders who took on the challenge of making Turok multiplatform and giving PS3 owners the best game possible. Sony was also a great supporter, providing on-site assistance here so that you guys on PS3 got the same AAA fps experience that the 360 owners are going to get when Turok's released. So to make a long story short, the PS3 game rocks as hard as the 360 version. No worries there."

Bubbles Jenzo. It's nice to see a Gamer congratulate the devs for a job well done to both consoles instead of running petty side by side screenshots to say that exhibit b has an unnoticable texture difference to exhibit a.

Looks like fans of both consoles will get to benefit from Turok.

I'm just disappointed that the more bizarre weapons from previous outings no longer seem to be in the game. It's one of the things that made it stand out in the past.

Agreed on its art. Characters look rather generic and the jungle doesn't seem lush enough and Gears-ish effect of UE3 is to obvious in some spots.
Still, the dinasours look incredible and game is overally nice looking.

I know im gonna get labeled an xbot for this but... if the PS3 is so powerful as many of you guys say, why is there even a question as to will the PS3 version be as good as the 360's version. shouldn't it be the other way around.(developer)because of the power of the PS3 were trying everything we can to make sure we get the 360's version as close to or the same as the PS3 version because with the CELL(LOL) we can do so much.

The PS3 is just a lot harder to make games on. It's why so many early games looked like ass compared to the 360 offerings and 360 fanboys used this as ammo. While developers could easily reach high standards with the 360 because of its very standard coding, the PS3 requires a different approach entirely.

It's why porting from 360 to PS3 gives terrible results, they're two completely architectures. Look at the 360 version of Lost Planet and the screens of the PS3 version, then look at Call of Duty 4 built from the ground up on both.

It's only been recently and since Sony sent out the new PS3 dev tools that third party developers have been able to reach the same standards as the 360... and should no doubt surpass it.

Do you remember original Xbox' first year games? Back in first 2 years of Xbox 1's life, the phrase "Xbox version looks as good as PS2 version" was said a lot. Did that mean Xbox wasn't stronger? No.
Because PS2 was released sooner than Xbox, devs were more adept at developing games for it and thus, first generation of multi platform Xbox games were all inferior to PS2 versions so it was a great achievement for devs in 2nd year to be able to make them equal and later, making Xbox versions superior.
The situation is reverse this gen with Xbox 360 being the console that was released earlier and multiplatform titles on PS3 being mostly inferior to 360 ones in the first year. By saying "PS3 version is the same as 360 verson" in the second year, it means that devs are becoming as much adept at developing for PS3 as they are with 360.

Why do you think it'll look better? This game is a multiplatform game, they have to split the budget, and thus cant focus on 1 single platform. Thats why I'm a big supporter of exclusive games.

I can easily see the quality difference in lets say, Uncharted and any EA game on the market. It's because games like Uncharted are being made on 1 platform, and they dont get rushed out the door.

When the 360 first came out it was compared to the PS2 and xbox, there has been no comparison of a PS3 title to a last gen title. That says a lot about the 2 systems. Another 360 Fanboy argument getting shot down.

You do have a legitimate question and your not an xbot. I have a counter question I would like to ask. People compare third party games even though there's a learning curve. My question is... Why are the first party games on 360 having to be patched when the first party games on the ps3 do not. I think we can all pretty much agree first party titles are where you show off the power of the system. Third party titles don't care to be dumbed down for one or the other because they're cash cows. I'm not attacking the 360 (I love mine) just making an observation. I do believe this is starting to become a loaded question. Why not ask which one if any is better instead of making them respond to is the ps3's version gonna be crap again? Third party titles have been getting better and better. At what point do we say the ps3 has proved itself?

i didn't know there was already a review for this game. i also had the impression that this game sucked. but no matter how good the game is there is just better games out there.

FPS is a crowded genre and i don't think there is room for Turok in it.

Even if the dev of a small studio didnt have trouble with completetly new architechure do you really think he would come out and say it? I think he is smart enough to not alienate his potential customers by fueling fanboy wars on which console is better.

Those who have spoke out against the PS3 wont get fired by their boss if they say what they feel or in the case of the harmonics dev already have been =D

Gabe knows he has millions of PC fans who use steam everyday and buy his products straight from his store, not to mention he is already a millionaire from past Half life and Microsoft successes.

I feel propaganda is a very fitting studio title in this case!

Gabe Newell is an asshole, and due to his arrogance and ignorance, I have since given away my PC steam account to my little brother, complete with 14 games.

I now own a PS3, and until Gabe changes his ways, I will never play anything through Steam ever again.

you are right. from day 1 the xbox 1 SHOWED it was more powerful than the PS2. you figure that developers had been working on the PS2 for over a year an they were familiar with the PS2's code. but when the xbox 1 was released you could see it had more power. the thing that I dont get is if a system was more powerful regardless of its difficult to code you should still be able to push the graphics. at best the PS3 is starting to MATCH what the 360 is doing. I have both systems an I always download both demos to compare an talk about on here.

ok guys all 360 hatred aside, think about this. last gen the Ps2 was lead on over 90% of the games made because 1 it was the most popular bigger userbase an 2 it was the least powerful of the 3 systems(GC,xbox1 an PS2)therefore developers knew that ANYTHING they drew up on the PS2 wouldnt have a problem running on the others systems why? because they packed more power.now this gen sony PROMISED so much power out of the PS3 that developers were making the 360 lead or developing games at 360 SPECS to easily port to the super powerful PS3, but what they were finding out was trying to run PS3 games at 360 specs they wernt running good at all,thats why so many PS3 games had such bad frame rates. but now there starting to make the PS3 as lead. why? is it more popular or bigger userbase nope!! is it the weaker system!! MAYBE, building with PS3 as lead then they know they wont have a problem of getting the game running on the 360!! hasnt it been stated before that its easier to port from the PS3 to the 360. sounds like to me the 360 can handle what ever the PS3 can but not the other way around!! if the PS3 was so powerful with the cell then how come the 360 can run games built with the cell or PS3 specs in mind with no problem.

Did Criterion not say that PS3 as lead machine leads to more complex thoght process which equates to a better game as the codes are so different?

Also apparently PS3 Burnout is just better to play but know doubt you will say otherwise the same goes with DMC4.

Its funny that whenever a devs says a game is better on PS3 or cannot be done on PS3 people think they are talking nonesnse.

Maybe just maybe the years experience and better tools are finally opening up the PS3.

360 is similar to PC. It just seems PS3 cannot run PC like code due to the architecture of the machine.

Also of course Xbox looked better than PS2...hard drive as standard helped.

Which machine has that this time? Sony learned the lesson.

Also its got nothing to do with specs its the architecture. Sony went a different way to MS.

Another valid question and your right thus far multiplats have given 360 the edge but still there is the first party question. The only major problem I have with 360 is there system model. I loved the xbox's everything included model but it seems like they desighned the 360 after the ps2 model (buy all the peripherals to get the complete machine). I liked the complete model better so I bought it as my lead platform this gen, only this time it was the ps3.

your right it is funny when a dev says a game cant be done on the 360, if you ever pay attention its always the first party developers thats says that!! they said Lair cant be dont they said HS couldnt be done. all that is, is crap ,trying to hype an EXCLUSIVE game.

xbox 1 looked better because it had a HDD LOLOLOL,boy are you wrong. what the hell does an HDD got to do with the way the graphics look. you can take an 800mhz cpu with a standard blu ray drive an a 500 gb HDD an it still wont put out better performance or graphics than a dual core 3 ghz cpu with a standard dvd drive an just a 2 gig flash card. HDD is just STORAGE noting to do with graphical performance!!

i got a question if you take 2 PS3's take the HDD out of 1 an try an play the same game on both, the one that still has the HDD would have better graphics!!LOLOLOLOLOL!!

Unfortunately, gnothe, you misinterpret Criterion's grammar usage.

When they say it makes for a better 360 port, they mean that the quality of the port from PS3 to 360 is better than 360 to PS3.

So in essence he said that developers who use PS3 as the lead platform will see more equality between the finished products on both consoles.

Once again, they are speaking of the port ITSELF, not the port in comparison to the other platform's version.

You get it?

Oh, and having a hard drive to cache data does indeed provide the possibility for a higher-quality graphical experience.

You can cache higher-resolution textures which take up quite a bit of space...you can have uncompressed audio....

Having more storage and cache space available offers an incredible wealth of possibility to PS3 developers.

Only Xbox 360 provides gamers with the premier version of Turok which will undoubtedly be yet another AAA title to the Xbox 360s library. We all know that no matter what "Propaganda" (perfect name for this situation) tells the fandroids the Xbox 360 version will look and play better thanks to its superior hardware and award winning features.

If you want the best Turok experience, you're going to have to Jump In

This is actually the same thing that happened with Call of duty 4. When Infinity Ward came out and said that the PS3 wasn't getting shafted and that it wasn't that hard to work with. I have a feeling Turok will do the same. And PS3 owners tend to support 3rd party devs that show them respect and I think Propeganda knows that, and they'll be rewarded for it.
