Amazing game. I'd never spend $60 on it, but I had a blast when I played it 2 times through (800/1000)
Interesting concept, fun demo, great reviews...it deserves it

360 games always have good numbers. Even bad games like Two Worlds outsell the likes of Uncharted and Ratchet.

7.1 - Two World sold well because...
Gamers are thirsty for Western RPGs. Right now, there are only two major companies that make 'em: Bethesda and BioWare. That's it.
I despise Japanese melodramatic, over-the-top, non-nonsensical RPGs but love Western RPG. So if I want to play Western RPGs on console, other than Mass Effect, what else can I buy? There's really no alternative outside Oblivion and Mass Effect. There's the sucky Two Worlds - that's it. It sucks - but there's nothing else!
That's a major problem for Sony as well, because currently there's only one other developer that's making good Western RPG - BioWare, and they are not making anything for the PS3. Which means the PS3 is alienating fans of WRPGs, and we will pretty much ignore the PS3 unless Sony can offer us what we want to play.
Sony is completely missing out on that market segment. Next year, Xbox 360 will get even more exclusive Western RPGs like Too Human and Fable 2 (atop of the multiplat Fallout 3,) and the PS3 will still have NOTHING exclusive to offer to the Western RPG crowd. If anyone is a Western RPG fan and is looking to buy a console between 360 and PS3, there is absolutely no way he'll pick PS3 over 360 and give up Mass Effect, Too Human and Fable 2.

7.3 - What he said is true, people who really like Western RPG are not going to go for the PS3
As well as the PS2 sold well in the last gen (100 mil), it was still pale when compared to the PC gaming market (estimated by various source to be at 400+ mil back in mid-2000s.)
A significant segment of gamers who stayed on PC were Western RPG fans, and now they are finally leaving PC behind and migrating to console. 400 mil is a huge number. And when they migrate, they are going to pick the platform that offers the type of game they like to play: Western RPG.
Does the PS3 has any (exclusive) Western RPG to offer them? Sure, it has Oblivion, but that's on Xbox 360 as well. If I really like Western RPG, and I want a platform that gives me the best and most Western RPGs, and I'm only buying one console, guess which one (360 or PS3) did I buy?
Well, the PS2 might have sold 100 mil - but not to Western RPG fans, which I'm sure are numbered in the millions. It's not about how many consoles PS3 have sold, it's about how many more consoles PS2 could have sold but did not because it does not have Western RPGs.

Well that's rather mean. I didn't go and say WRPG's are just over the top fluff that don't really give you a sense of level progression till your past lv15 and the stories revolve around you saving or destroying the lands you live in. I'd take my melodramatic level grinding every land exploring jrpg any day.
JRPG's have a character you can see and hear about with a back story and trials and tribulations. In WRPG's it's some guy who everyone seems to know for no other reason then you are the main character.
WRPG's you are stricked into the land it takes place in. RPG's you go all over the worlds. Snow, desert, forests, toppled down cities, molten areas, sometimes even the moon and back and it's all in one game.
The stories for each have a distince difference. WRPG's like I said earlier you save or destory you land. JRPG's it's either a political battle, finding your past, saving the world, redeming your past, or going to school....
WRPG's are fine and dandy but nothing close to what JRPG's can muster out as far as level progression and story telling as a whole. Last two WRPG's I've played they've ruled my live for 2 weeks straight (Oblivion and Mass Effect) but they haven't taken months or years (FFXI) away. Yet to each his own right?

This is really surprising. After Bioshock lunched there was an endless onslaught of AAA games which i felt crushed Bioshocks chances of selling.
The bargaining power that Microsoft has with 3rd party developers is getting stronger month after month.

That's great news for Bioshock, but I honestly thought it would have sold more than that by now. I mean considering some of the crap games that sell a million in their first week.

Well for one GOTY has nothing to do with sales.
And why is it so difficult to give credit to Halo 3? I'm not saying it was the greatest game of mankind, but it was damm good. So why is it that every one and their mother has to go around saying it sucks? Personally thinking here, the fanboys are just pissed off about a game that sold well of their "rival" system. No instead of actually picking up said system and enjoying it's games they would rather just sit around and say the games for it sucks. Which begs the question, why the hell are they are a site called News 4 "Gamers" when the above pretty much proves they are not.

@jaja1434: Maybe the overwhelming anti-Halo sentiment on this gamers site proves that Halo isn't really a gamers game after all...or maybe everyone just wants to hate on the popular game. Kind of like how everyone starts pretending to hate their favorite band once they obtain a little commercial success because they just aren't cool anymore. Who knows.

15.4 - But you also need to look at games like Assassins creed.
Its was a good game with a lot of good ideas, but it was full of holes and sold on hype.
This was one of the biggest selling games of the year, so its not cretin quality = sales.
which is why on the other side of the coin games like Uncharted which was a million times better and is a solid build didn't sell as many.
But, you also have to note that not many people talk about Assassins creed as much any more as it has disappeared into the background, where uncharted has a following that is growing.

Prey was awesome ^^ If more people played online multi I'd have all my achievements for that game :( Basically need team matches stuff
Story and level design were sweet in Prey, yet I am a little bit of a hypocrite with these two games. I liked Prey but I'm not a fan of Bioshock cuz you can't die... you couldn't die in Prey either but maybe I got my fill of no death thanks to Prey and not Bioshock..

Only HL2 and that's because it's already considered one of the top 10 best games ever created.
Stalker and Prey were also really great and I specially loved Prey but BioShock is in a completely different league.
Superb story and philosophy, incredible art design and great graphics, unique gameplay with revolutionary AI and the incredibly innovative mix of plasmids and all other powers. Add superb character design and ground breaking audio and you have another game worthy of the top 10 best games ever.
