Take-Two Raises Q4 Sales, New GTA IV 360 Content In 2009

Publisher Take-Two has announced the results of its fourth quarter, showing sales up to $292.6 million on strong sales of BioShock, NBA 2K8 and Carnival Games, and losses halved to $7.1 million.

In an ongoing conference call with investors, Take-Two executives announced that beyond its upcoming fiscal 2008, which will include the previously announced exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV content for Xbox 360, the following year will also include new episodic content for the 360.

Having paid 50 million for exclusive content, MS should be getting something on their investment. Its prob 25 million per episode. Good for MS. Sony will have 2 more Rockstar exclusives + the core GTA IV game. Who really looks good on this one? This deal is like the HD DVD group paying of Paramount at 150 million. Why prolong the inevitable? Good try though MS.

its funny how all ps fans now dismiss GTA4. It was only the best selling series on PS2....but i could understand you guys putting up a hissy fit now that the 360 is getting exclusive content.

No one knows what the exclusive content is, but $50 million doesn't just buy extra horse armor. The guys at M$ are smart, and Sony messed up big time letting their best selling EXCLUSIVE series slip right from under them.

GTA4 will sell consoles.....way more than MGS4 ever could.

episodic conetent...blah blah blah blah. ill finish the game and move onto the next, why would i pay to add to it. how ever they release for the PS3 is the way ill accept it and pass it. no need to make a 60 dollar game cost about 80 for added content. Aye but the price they paid to secure it means its probably pretty substantial content, like the Oblivion expansions or whatever.

The value of these only really depends on whether the core game actually ends up being any good - if it doesn't then no-one will care about them, if it does then fans of the series will want a 360.

Making a mistake with the Episodic Content being released in 09. By 09, plenty of new games will be out that will shift the focus away from GTAIV. Gears 2 for example.

No further details were offered on the content."

The extra 2 EP content that was announced is still coming in 08, but in addition there is more content for the 360 in 09. Maybe this 09 content will come to the PS3 as well but this article seems specific that its for the 360.
