Whoever are responsible for bringing the farcry franchise where it is since the departure of crytek should get a HUGE raise.

Amazing engine.

Games will be perfect when the AI will be as good as the engine on which it runs.

Surfer Girl refered to a new Far Cry game in her blog, but she was refering to a console version, not the pc game. It doesn't surprise me that a console version of Far Cry 2 on a console would suck (no pun intended).

Anyway, I would take anything from her (his?) blog with a (VERY BIG)grain of salt...

actually not, judging from the screenshots this game will be a little better at best in terms of pure visual quality but the real promise is the environment it is much more interactive than Crysis(I remember Cevat Yerli talking about how he wanted to have forest fires in Crysis but they couldnt do it this time, Far Cry 2 has it implemented already). Also another huge plus over Crysis, the whole game is placed in an open world setting like Oblivion.

This game is going to blow Crysis out of the water. And I'm not just talking graphics here.

The best thing ever to have happened to the Far Cry franchise was to move away from Crytek. I couldn't care less for the original Far Cry, but this game has nothing to do with the original and I have high hopes. The only similar thing is the name and its only there because it helps selling.

If you can check out the video demo at gametrailers or gamevideos. You'll be blown away by what these guys are trying to do. This is were FPShooters should be heading, not Halo.

The Very High setting is there as a future-proof setting. So if you want to play the game again a year from now but have faster hardware, you can set the game to Very High.

I notice someone keeps disagreeing about the farcry2 engine vs the Crysis one, and i dont see how they can disagree when the game crysis has none of this in there, the only feature it has from this engine that ive seen so far is where you shoot down tree branches and the graphics, other than that this game has a lot of good things that make crysis look a little like a last year model of a car or something like that.

Have a read how they are done they are of a very small file size have a look here more info have a look at other animations if this system is used we could see some good effects like FC2 even on consoles!
