'Huxley' (X360/PC) Entering Closed Beta Test Phase 2

Huxley is an MMOFPS utilizing the Unreal Engine 3 that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. Human beings have mutated and are divided into two opposing races, Sapiens and Alternative, who are forced to battle against one another to gain control of the world and its resources.

The second stage of testing for the massively multiplayer online first-person shooting (MMOFPS) game will take place from Dec. 13-17, 2007, in Korea. Registration for new local testers will begin in November, though gamers who took part in the first CBT will be able to participate as well.

1 - Nice!!

Fully hosted MMOFPS with over 100 players at one time.

I hope they don't charge a fee for it, since live is $50. If it's free then I will feel better about my $50 a year paying for online.

However if they try and pull some PC lameness and try and charge for this, expect it to flop big time in the console space.

5 - This games going to suck

Dont know why you all think its going to be great. Been following since it was first announced for PC like years ago. Wont amount to anything.

MMORPGS // MMOFPS - They are on another level when trying to make the game successful. There are so many variables in games like this that can go wrong that something usually does.

Dont know if there will be a fee.

Game has a great concept but thats about all it will be. Going to be awhile before another great MMORPG like DaoC hits. Warcraft still owns the vast majority of MMO players.

7 - I don't like unreal engine

There i said it. Now why? Well, the best examples of that engine to date are Gears and Bioshock. both of those games suffer from momentary, but regular 'pauses' in game play as memory or frame is switched.Although on gears its bearable, on Boishock it made me stop playing.Devs are purportedly spending millions of dollars on these games, yet a smooth, fast loading and expansive game seems to be eluding them when using unreal engine.Maybe a different engine would help?

Do gamers realize what they try to squeeze out of consoles with limited ram?

consoles have restraints and limitations and will always have that.

Pc's are scalable consoles are not.

anyhow glad to hear about this one, more info would be nice but 2008 is gonna be crazy

7.3 - Yeah but PC games are made to play on different hardware

With consoles they have one standard and don't have to count for aftermarket parts and incompatible PC hardware. Which is why some PC games take ten years to make, because of the constant changing of tech on PCs. 360 and PS3 have one GPU and CPU with one kind of memory (even if the PS3's is sh!tty) PC has hundreds of cards, CPU and memory types to dev for. Don't get me wrong PC is and will always be better but look what you have to buy or overclock in order to play. Consoles are put the game in and play, no searching for patches and no headaches.

Its good to here about this game again.Really taught it was dead.

Microsoft really seems to have a good strategy this year.They are keeping most of their future IP.s secret so that people will concentrate on the games coming out now.I think thats one of the biggest problem that Sony is having.They seem to be to much hype surrounding KILLZONE 2,MGS4,FF13 and GT5 that people are holding off buying the PS3 now.

Watch what will happen next year.Microsoft will show you a batch of AAA titles to be released in 08.?

Yah the 360 version will have a sigle player mode that interacts with multiplayer last time I checked both games are going to be very simular in other areas as stated by the devs they'll also be cross platform gameplay.
