Black College Football Xperience Announced

In an effort to diversify the football gaming market, Nerjyzed Entertainment in bringing Black College Football Xperience to the PC this November.

"BCFx is a sports game that captures the unique culture of the black college football experience, fusing advanced videogame design with music, and entertainment. Nerjyzed has secured an exclusive 5-year licensing agreement with three HBCU conferences including the SWAC, SIAC, and CIAA, several schools within the MEAC as well as independent HBCUs. The game features more than 40 teams, bands and mascots; interactive halftime shows; realistic stadiums; play-by-play commentary; and ten authentic Classics."

not sure why this developer chose this angle, i liked the all pro football angle with superstars and can live with an NFL street theme but a black college football experience, i think this is too forced of a theme.

I am not a racist, but I do think that if there were a white football game, all the blacks would be getting pi$$ed off. "This is racism this, this is racism that". The football market is loved by more than just blacks. White people play football as well. That stupid black woman that said Resident Evil 5 was racist is now probably jumping for joy. I say this is going to start a whole lotta racism $hit on this story.

Think about it. White Man Hockey 2008. That along with this football game would get me upset as even though alot of blacks play, there are also alot of whites that play too.

I agree with you about the whole RE5 issue and how it was blown out of proportion. Ignorance does exist on both side but the other side (African-American) developed that ignorance from being the victims for so many years of oppression.

I hope they don't change or ban RE5 just because it takes place in Africa (or Haiti) and just because some ignorant African-American woman, who doesn't know anything about the game or its series, has to bring in her own agenda and make it a race thing so she could get her 15 minutes of fame. Capcom is not stupid to alienate an entire culture, some which are part of their fan base, just to sell copies of their game.

The game is based around the football teams of HBCU's (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). They are making this game because these teams and people that support these teams get shafted in the EA NCAA football game. And when they put them in the game, the severely handicap them.
Teams like Jackson State, Grambling, Florida A&M, Howard, Alcorn, etc.
They are just trying to give everyone a chance to see their teams on screen. If they made a game based upon the CFL (Canadian Football League), or Ivy League college teams, I bet no one would say anything about it. But put black in the title and all of a sudden its bad.
It isn racist at all.

America took African people from their land, made them slaves, lynched and dehumanized them in public and then pretended like it never really happened so let them have their own game that celebrates their own culture.

Are you guys forgetting that Black culture is very different from White culture? Have you guys heard the Madden 08 soundtrack and do you really think it appeals to the average African-American?

I don't see myself buying that game because it doesn't appeal to me but I don't want to take it away from people who are of that culture (or not) and want to be a part of that experience.

Last time i checked African Tribes sold their own people and defeated tribes people to British & Spanish Merchants & Governments for slave labour so White poeple are not solely responsible and why DO Todays white people have to still bare the wrong doing's of the past?! Last time I checked there isn't any African American who are slaves or are children so slaves. So whats the freaking problem? Its not like the blacks are the only "disadvantaged" in America. Latinos and Asians had it almost as bad but now they virtually own this country. Its amazing what you can achieve when you live life through merit instead of whining about how bad your great, great, great grand daddy had it.

As for game design, there are a lot of Asians in the World Poker Tournament, do we need a poker game designed to appeal for them? The irony is if someone made a golfing game for white people it would be considered as racism LOL!

Most of you guys dont get the point at all.I went to an historically black collge, Langston university, and i can tell you there is a totally diffrent atmosphere during games , i was also in the band, halftime show is always full of energy ,and the dancers,well lets just say its very entertaining,for any body who dosent get it, check out the byou classic, games between grambling and southern or tim crisp classic langston and grambling.

11 - Am I the Only One Who Doesn't Have a Problem With This?

I mean, WHO CARES?! I don't. It doesn't ruin my day knowing that in a few months there will be a football game featuring only all-black colleges. I just wish the same people who defend this game (along with the existence of blacks-only universities) would do the same if the cultures were reversed. It's hypocrisy to argue for exclusion for one group of people and condemn it as racist for other groups.

Unless this is on par with Madden, I doubt it'll sell anyway.

There is no such thing as a black only university. There are HBCU's (Historically Black Colleges and Univerisities) which are schools started because blacks were not allowed to enroll in other schools during Reconstruction and the Jim Crow era.
They remain mostly black because whites choose not to go to them, not because they are excluded.

15 - This is about culture...

Nearly every Football video game is the same. Yet, it is a fact that the culture surrounding "Black College Football" has a very different form of accompanied entertainment than the Culture of Classic, or quote/unquote, "White Football". This Developer wanted to make a Football game that wasn't the same old same old, and based it off of a real portion of the American Football fabric. What would you have them name it instead?

Black people do indeed play in the NFL and mainstream College Football, but the base and mainstream Culture of the sport is White. There's nothing wrong with that. And there is nothing wrong with this game. You don't have to call White College Football, "White College Football" because it is mainstream, and goes without saying. This game isn't racist, and it's not a threat to anyone. Relax already. If it's not your cup of tea, or if for whatever reason it just rubs you the wrong way, then don't buy it. Simple as that.

For thouse who are not Familiar with HBCU Football, Historically Black Colleges and Universities were Schools that were Created for African Americans during the days where Blacks werent allowed to attend Predominatly(sp)White Colleges aka PWC's.

HBCUs have Athletic Confernces, MEAC, CIAA, SWAC, and The SIAC. for years these schools always played with other HBCU's. 80% of a HBCU Football Schedual features Other HBCU's the other half are small PWCs and Bowl games featuring major PWC's. The Athmosphere is Totally diferent with HBCU... you have Bands playing the lates hits on the radio from Rap, Hip Hop, Jazz , Slow james, Marches, Fightsongs pregame, Then the major show during halftime.. then another Show at the end of the game where bands from both schools re battling it out about 3 hours after the game had ended and the stadium is still packed. In this game you can controll the Bands...... what other football game does that??

Other Football games have included HBCUs in thier games but 4 HBCU's out of 40 teams is ridiclous.

If you dont know about HBCU's, Never been to a HBCU Game or, Dont attend a HBCU... please do not comment about this game untill u do so.
