I am going to be honest, I thought infamous looked better then prototype. The graphics and gameplay looks alot better in that game at least from the trailer, and gta 4 surpasses that game in graphics, and gameplay.

Fun makes a game good. You can add graphics, make the game 100Gb big. Make it run at 120 fps, have 1000 players online, run in 1080p native, but if it is not fun IT DOES NOT MATTER.

of the open world games I've seen up to now. Graphics wise anyway, who knows how it'll play, but the production value is very obviously there.

The worst mistake young franchises like this can have is comparing themselves to the biggest franchise in their respective genre, albeit from a third party, example of this would be Killzone vs. Halo(doomed it before it even released).

This game will be completely different from GTA, and doesn't deserve the comparisons, because it has it's own individuality.

Hopefully this is a good game, and just recalling something, remember the last game to have comparisons like this about itself(True Crime, very impressively mediocre game in my opinion)

GTA will be one of next year’s must have titles. It's bad when a game like this one is compare to a biggger franchis. Just look at KILLZONE, some people said it was going to be the HALO "killer" n it failed. Hopefully they are not saying that KZ2 will be the next HALO killer, But don't be surprise, cuz KZ2 is coming out stronger than before.

this game looks kinda stupid, looking at the trailer i'm curious as to how great the story will be and it's very unrealistic, so how does this compare to GTA 4 which has a solid story and is realistic? Looks cool and all just saying it won't be as good as gta 4.

I seriously doubt Prototype or any other game can make their enviroments as interactive as GTA4.

personally any given day I prefer GTA or similar to GTA like Mafia and Getaway over stuff like Prototype and Crackdown(not saying they are bad or not fun).

this game had better be better than the Darkness and Overlord, neither of which felt really that "Evil"

and a better storyline than Crackdown, if I'm going to be leaping building to building, I'd better have a reason!(well, eventually, it's still fun on its own)

Well, so far with only 5 screens, I'm more excited about Prototype than GTA4 with two trailers. So, I kinda agree with GR. GTA4 is gonna be one of the best games of 2008 but Prototype... it may end up THE best. GameSpy saw the 20% completed game and they already are calling it truly epic and groundbreaking.

I must be the only person in the world who doesn't like playing repackaged versions of the same games. I liked GTA III. But by the third one it was god awful repetitive to me. My roommate could play it for days, but I was like I did this kinda thing already in the last one and I dont feel like learning a new city layout, for the same kinda stuff. But that may just be me. I generally prefer multilayer games anyway, its always different.

Personally Crackdown is one of my top three favorite 360 titles so far, and probably the most fun I've had with a next gen title (on any system) to date. I'm very anxious to see a sequel, and really have to question if Prototype or even Infamous will have the brilliant world design, or the fun gameplay that Crackdown has. I also would like to express my dismay that Sucker Punch isn't doing another platformer, as the market already seems to be getting enough of these "sandbox" games with dark themes.

I think that they are too different types of games - prototype is a kind of more like a hyper-crackdown type game and should be compared to that game rather than GTA.

gta is rooted in a much more 'realistic' sandbox with a relatively real storyline - a game like prototype is about a genetically modified dude that can morph parts of his body. Its like comparing gears of war to devil may cry.

IMO, both games look set to be great and I will be defo purchasing the two of them when they are relased.
