2K Comments on BioShock Leak

One would think the whole damn world was drowning, is what, considering the total pandemonium that BioShock leak is causing. After local TRU outlet leaked the game, and others followed suit, BioShock is now enjoying the most chaotic and incompetent seen in recent times. With a billion people running around like headless chickens 2K Games finally responded to long-time Cult of Rapture form member Rapture Tourist with an official statement. In an email sent RT, Ryan Jones, Senior Account Executive at Access Communications, the firm responsible for 2K's PR, has this to say:

In any case, the game is going to be released, I mean is getting great reviews and everything but some gamers are acting like this game is not going to even come out this year...

Stupid article all the way around.

All games get pirated and they still sell millions of copies if it's a good game. The streetdate break is no big deal, money is money and it's not like these stores have boxes of them.

They are making a big deal out of nothing..

EDIT: me getting it and paying money(60 dollars) for it, for the record.

Even if you pay for it, "breaking" the copy protection scheme or using one that is may be a violation of their terms of use. I'm almost certain that even if you buy it, posessing a hacked copy is considered illegal.

*Edit @ snoop -- sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you meant you would download a pirated version and buy the TRU one when available so you wouldn't be "stealing". My bad.

for buying it snoop_dizzle, but the store that sold it to you can. I only wish some of the stores around here were selling it early. I've already pre-paid for mine, so I don't see the harm in getting it a few days early. But alas, I'll gladly wait for Tuesday. It will be well worth it. 8)

I hope the people who pirate this game (and others) rot in hell. This game is so well done -- from an artistic style -- that there is no doubt a ton of artistic talent went into the game and the developers deserve better than to watch people openly thieve their ideas and they see nothing from it.

8 - The sad part is...

That referenced in many reviews are the plot twists that, along with the innovative weapons/plasmids and atmosphere, are what make Bioshock the best game of the year so far. If spoilers start being leaked all over the internet, etc., it really would be unfortunate if people who would rather NOT know accidentaly have the game ruined for them. I hope N4G would not post any "spoiler" type articles at all about Bioshock, but if they feel they must, at least make it obvious they contain spoilers.

i have a ps3 and i am really considering a 360 for this game but i am going to college in a year and i've been now considering a 500$ laptop.
so which should i buy???

10.2 - Computers are too valuable in college

As someone who has been though college, let me just assure you that a laptop (get a cheap printer too) is worth much more than any game.

Yeah, you won't be able to play it on your laptop; not one so cheap, anyway, but the tradeoff of having to play games in someone else's place for getting to avoid computer hassles is more than fair.

Take the laptop and forget about the game. Laptop means a whole heck of a lot more.

I hate to say it but, college should be a higher priority.

Bioshock will still be there when you get the money. It should be a hell of a game, but honestly, you can wait.
