Medal of Honor:Airborne delayed on PS3

Medal of Honor Airborne will be available August 24, 2007 in Europe and August 28, 2007 in North America for the Xbox 360 videogame system from Microsoft and Windows PC and in November for the Playstation 3 computer entertainment system.

The last two.

When you throw in random pieces of hardware without fully looking into compatibility, it will make it hard. The fact they came and used hardware that was so different to current architectures, they made it harder and shot themselves in the foot.

The 360 on the other hand is getting all these games on time, it's also getting tons of timed exclusives when it shouldn't be, like this here.

And because of the difficulty, developers are just ditching Sony, ala Kengo Zero, Art of War, etc aswell as all their old exclusives going to the 360, as such as Devil May Cry 4, LA Noir, etc.

Finally, games that were either announced for the PS3, or games that were PS3 exclusives are being taken off the system totally, ala Beautiful Katamari, Fatal Iniertia.

I'm honestly suprised the PS3 is actually selling at all. But until MGS4 or FFXII (I'm not saying they will) 'Jump In', it'll sell, but where do Sony go after their 2 goldenboys are released?

Ahhhh, the 'Offensive Sony Fanboy', a very populated breed. Any form of pointer that Sony has done this bad, or Sony isn't doing to well here and he'll attack.

the ps3 is tough to develop for but that being said has more advantages than disadvantages. Extra cell processing power and blu ray capacity. Xbox easy to develop for, has 33% rate but if there is one feature i have to give msoft credit for is xbox live. i hardly pay for membership though jst love the free dwnloads but every once in a while i pay for gold membership. PS3 sales are slow because of lack of titles and the high price point. If sony dropped the price of their player by 200 because i doubt 100 will have a long lasting impact and then they released killer titles that really showcased the consoles power then a lot of people still sitting on the fence won't hesitate to make that jump. In the case of ps3 being hard to develelop for, this is only a temporary issue as more devs get a chance to work on the system they will slowly start to understand its advantages and push it for power

MoH is a great series. It's easy to pick up, has solid gameplay and has a few great musical scores.

It's an easy game to love.

Unfortunatly, there is already way too many amazing titles I need to pick up for the 360, a few for the Wii aswell. I'll hopefully find this in a bargain bin sooner or later.

Dunno about you xeoset; for me the series went down after frontline and Allied Assault(Pc only, awsome game). the people who made allied and pacific assault(never played it) broke away to make call of duty series. ever since they did that any MOH ive played sucked(Rising Sun had me riding on an battle elephant? wtf was that $hite!?). always good music, but thats what i use CD players for.

The problem i see is that and please don't take this as a fanboy comment I am mearly resaying what others have said.

The PS3 and 360 are built VERY differently, and with the 360 being built more like a computer and their developer tools being really good (again from what has been said) it makes it a lot easier to start the and make the game on the 360 because you have a lot less prep to do so to speak.

However this is a double edged sword because when you want to port it to the PS3 it needs a lot of retooling and a lot of studioes don't have the time or resources to really get it up to snuff so the bigger companies delay it to get it done and the smaller ones well they look or preform worse

I have heard (read) the same elsewhere too. The thing I have to add, is that it would be cheaper (more efficient) to start developing on a multiport on the PS3. It's easier to go PS3->XB360 than the opposite that is.

Call of duty, and brothers in arm are both superior gameplay wise, and graphically to this game. I still don't understand why people buy it though.

I still think Medal of Honor Frontline is one of the best ww2 games, mainly because of the score that was done. Plus Airborne looks more innovative than previous ww2 shooters with the non-linear gameplay.

These guys just keep trying the PS3, well atleast its not delayed till next year or something, but like I have to repeat myself again, the xbox360 doesnt get its game delayed because it was built on that platform first where as when you port a 360 game to PS3, you have to recode it again just for the PS3, its not a simple paste and copy, and thats what you guys have to understand but then again you dont want to understand, you much rather throw punches as to why PS3 owners have to wait, but once devs start using PS3 as their main platform there wont be as much delay.

Mass Effect is due Sept 1st, the end of the Australin Winter as promised
Blue Dragon is still comiong out August 3rd

Whats new...This is getting a little out of hand and something needs to be done about the release or lack of releases on the Playstation 3.

Every game that is multi platform seems to be delayed on the Playstation 3 and this can not be good for any future person looking to buy into the console gaming community.

I mean if you walk in to a shop and you want a Playstation 3 with a few games ,Then to be told its out on the nintendo wii and xbox360 but not on the playstation3 for the next few months..[what you going to buy]Thats another Lost Playstation 3 sale lost.

I just can not understand what with all this Playstation 3 fiasco,Seems Sony are hell bent in shooting themselves in the foot,Either they are plain ignorant and stupid or they know something or have something planned that is going to get the gaming public excited again.

To be honest with you i have hardly played the playstation 3 since i bought it and it might as well get boxed back up.

Guys are funny, this isn't about the game being delayed, it's about trying to find things to bash Sony over, the game could have been "Take me back to the 80's, greatest arcade games" you would be saying "LAWL PS3 IS SUX, 360 4 LIEF" etc.

Im already enjoying Rainbow Six (which actually has turned out to be a very good game on the PS3),NInja Gaiden out this week and living up to and surpassing the HYPE for it, Transformers (more my sons cup of tea but I still enjoy some of it),The Darkness (looks GREAT on the PS3), and many other titles that are out now, not to mention that I have LAIR,Stranglehold,Madden (I know I know but it's a great party game),Heavenly Sword, Home, R & C Future,the white hot WARHAWK, on reserve, so to me this news is like "ok and?" lol

Spin it however you want, but not even being able to rent the game until 3 months after its initial release has to be at least SOMEWHAT annoying. It's certainly not GOOD... If the same thing happens with Brothers in Arms, or CoD4, or both, then Sony will really need to start figuring out how to assist 3rd party developers. Otherwise, 360 doesn't just have a year's head start, but it'll get a headstart on the games as well.

I for one don't plan on buying any WW2 game this year(sick of them) and I do have a 360 elite, The games that I buying is Lair, warhawk, heavenly sword, Socom, Uncharted and Assasin's Creed as you can see I have more than enough games to keep me satify this holiday season and when I'm done I go to ebay and buy Halo3 for $20 so I can finish the fight.

SO 360 is getting another multiplatform game first..WOW i hope they have more than multiplatform games

Sony doesn't sufficiently help third party developers. These devs need more support because of the exotic hardware of PS3. Thats why first party exclusives are looking way better than third party with the exception of MGS4 and maybe a dozen others.

If you dont plan on supporting both systems I feel sorry for you guys,because this is not first or the last game in developement that will come out on the 360 first and then delayed on the PS3.It takes to long to make games on the PS3 take DARK SECTOR for an example the PS3 is the leading console for that game and it has been pushed back to 2008.If the 360 was the leading platform it would have came out in 2007.

Just give us KILLZONE II, Folklore, FFXIII et al, UT'07, MGS4, LBP, HS, LAIR, WARHAWK, HOME and GT5 and let it be. When the games are ready, they're ready.
