Lol, this is supposed to be news? Anyone who thought otherwise probably believes that game developers are miracle workers which also seems to be the mentality of the people who ACTUALLY believe Killzone 3 will come out next year ROFL.

I agree 100%. PS3 owners already have an exclusive "GTA style" game with Agent and 360 gamers are getting Crackdown 2 and supposedly a "Shenmue style" open world game. Theres no need for the next GTA game to be exclusive to ANY console.

Red Dead Redemption looks like it will crush GTA4 in every way. And PS3 exclusive AGENT will be epic. Also Rockstar has Max Payne coming and PS3's 2nd exclusive L.A. Noire too. GTA5 can take a rest for a while.

I don't think GTA V should be exclusive, to any system, and I am glad that you share that perspective. GTA V shouldn't be exclusive, because it's a landmark for RockStar, and it's bound to be huge, and both systems do have their open world games, but GTA is a monster of a series.

Any game that doesn't even have a trailer showing some gameplay won't be out for at least a year. This is why it was also no surprise to see Max Payne 3 pushed back.

P.S. When I first read this, for some reason I read it as GT5 and not GTA 5.

The 360 DVD and the PS3 RAM issues were what Rockstar complained about during development, if the game(s) were exclusive on either platform the issues wouldn't be a problem.

In theory the PC should be the ultimate platform for them to realize their vision but the port turned out pretty bad.

did you know that the ps3 can just print gta4 and both dlcs on the bluray twice so if you by chance scratch the bluray disc(virtually impossible), the ps3 can read the other layer and the game still work???...lol

lol, that's what i am saying... nowhere in that article did it say "no sooner than 2011"... i've heard rumors of a take-two AAA game being pushed out of 2010 but, something makes me think it's probably AGENT or something else...

R*'s track record proves that there may very well be a new GTA in 2010... but, like everything R*, we won't even get a crumb of information until they're ready to tell us...

R* are the best at keeping information internal... one of the few companies out there that don't leak info... i doubt they even mentioned GTA5 to the interviewer...

The game would have alot more content, but it won't happen, companies are all about money and they won't lose a few mil sales to release a better game (which would cost them more to make anyway)

With the xbox around they can have a smaller game but make just as much if not more money, so the only chance it will happen is if sony have locked them into an exclusive deal(unlikely).

I wish it was ps3 exclusive also on the bases of the belief that dvd limitations held back what could be done with gta4 hence the two expansions packs seen on 360. I've nothing against the 360, I just love gta and want it to be made to its full potential. I also wish the next MGS game was ps3 exclusive... it's kind of annoying how microsoft slaps these developers across the face with their money at the expense of us gamers.

What the hell do you mean? What expense has we the gamers suffered? Just because the 360 version didn't have the DLC content already included? Do you really believe it's because MS had anything to do with that or that maaaybe Rockstar wanted to make a little more $$$ on DLC and keep the life span of a game going.

Or maybe just maybe they released GTA to a specific date and to make money then continued development for expansions.

That's like saying you wish World of Warcraft would have released one game with all of its many expansions on its first release.

well microsoft paid $50m for the exclusive DLC, something that would have been in the full game on both consoles if it wasn't held back by dvd limitations. As for next MGS, it is obvious microsoft showed the cash since they did it with just about every former ps3 exclusive. I should have said at the expense of ps3 gamers though since xbox only owners get to enjoy some great games so it's not at the expense of all gamers, just those who want to experience the most out of games.

It's ridiculous to think that the 2 GTA IV expansion packs would have been included on the disc if it weren't for the 360 DVD, that is A LOT of AAA caliber content and no publisher would pass up the opportunity to make money on it especially when one of the biggest entertainment releases was on the horizon.

Stewgart: No, Niko's story was complete and the characters that became part of the two expansion packs were never developed enough for the game to feel incomplete at the end. Infact, they could have picked any of the characters, the expansions developed them so well that once things were over it felt complete. The two expansions add very little to Niko's story so you never get the feeling that they were needed to fill in the gaps.
