DiRT 2 System Requirements Revealed

DiRT 2, released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 earlier this fall, is set to make its PC debut on December 1st. Not every computer's built for off-road racing, though, so you'd better check out the system requirements before you make a purchase

The funny thing is, recommended is an i7 and bare minimum is P4? Lol! All hail to PC games' scalability.

I am looking forward to this one, played the first one to death but knowing that only 25% of the game is point-to-point rally racing makes me wanna cry.

Guys 5700 series because it has DX11. This will max out on a simple 9800GT.

Thats Cause until Nvidia's newest Graphics card comes out the 5700 is the only Dx11 card you can get.

1.7 - El Colombiano is right
9800 GT is optimized for DX11 already. I have 2 in SLI and everything is beautiful.

What I really hate is not being able to have atleast one 295GTX T.T

Imagine those babies in SLI.

WTF have you been smoking. the 9800GT is not a DX11 GPU.

Anyway my rig should be able to handle the game.

AMD Athlon X2 6000 @ 3.0GHZ
XFX GTX280 OC'd beyond XFX GTX280 XXX
4Gig DDR2 ram
2x 250 gig SATA II HDD in raid 0
Samsung SM 2433BW 1920 x 1200

1.10 - Yep
Toast is wrong.
DX11 has to be built into the hardware. No software update will allow it.
The first cart to support...The ATI 5xxx series.

1.11 - ^My apologies.^
Ignore that post. Was my cousin messing around.

Proof: I don't use "T.T" because it's a sign of weakness. I also don't use "babies" in the same sentence while talking about tech.

And 9800 GT is only DX10. Real me wouldn't make that mistake.

will run at max settings.

even a 8800gtx will max it out.

though yea you will miss on the dx11 features. those will be an additional bonus once whenever you decide to upgrade.

you should be able to run it very well. maby a little more than 2.2GHz or perhaps a quad (if its optimized for that) would help slightly. 9800gtx is a beastly card. your fps probably wont drop below 60 on full.

@champ
8800gtx is the same performance as 9800gtx - in almost all situations

6 - sadly
I already played this on the 360.
It was good, but all the track based multi car racing irritated me.
There was always a massive pile up in the first few turns...
That's not rally racing.
I wanted more point to point.
I never finished the game...

the cpu requirements are lieing so damn much. I 100% guarantee that it would run only a couple of fps higher on an i7 than a c2q at somewhere over 3 GHz, because the cpu bottleneck would be eliminated and even the 4890 doesn't shift the balance to cpu bottleneck (or anything other than RAM bottleneck)
