TF2 Update Adds Bill's Hat as L4D2 Pre-Order Exclusive Item

Valve has released a new update for Team Fortress 2, now available on Steam. Included is the addition of Bill's hat (from the original L4D), an in-game item exclusive for players who pre-order Left 4 Dead 2.

Wow Valve. All these goodies in the last 5 days have been awesome. TF2 Halloween maps and achievements, and now this? <3

I love Valve's explanation for it:

"And lest you think this is just some marketing gimmick, here's the intricate back-story justifying it: while conducting a science experiment on parallel dimensions, Bill's hat fell off a table into the Team Fortress universe."

6 - I just don't get it...
...I finally picked up a copy of Left4Dead and after 30 minutes of playing I was scratching my head. It looks like a game 3 years past its expiry date and the gameplay, whilst it had its moments, was just average. The same dozen or so zombies doing the same generic moves.

Just how did it get hyped up so much and why would anyone be holding out for a second installment?

Valve took us to great heights with Half Life but this feels like something their trainee department threw together as part of some internal demo.
