Force Unleashed for PC: System requirements for the Star Wars game - is a 4000 Dollar PC necessary?
16
The announcement that Star Wars: The force Unleashed wouldn't be published for the PC had made many games angry back in 2008. But the developers changed their minds and in November the Ultimate Sith Edition will be released. But what are the system requirements?

@ Kalowest
While Blu-ray is great on the PS3, there is no real practical use for it on the PC as far as gaming goes. Reading from a Blu-ray is still very slow in comparison to a hard drive. Also, you can get a 1.5TB hard drive for $100 on newegg so space is not that much of an issue. Sure it would take awhile to install a couple of DVD9s, but it could be worse. Really though, 24GB for this game is pretty crazy considering it fit on a single 6.8GB Xbox 360 DVD. I also can't really imagine anyone has been waiting for this game to release on the PC.

4 - $4000 PC?
The specs doesn't fit with their statement that the game can only run on a $4000 PC. More like they can't scale down the game for the PC. 24 GB is ALOT. But for higher resolution than console it might be worth the price.

From what I've read on here, graphical quality doesn't affect the size of the game.

A) You guys need to get over the 4000$ PC statement LucasArts made over a year ago about a PC version of the game. They didn't want to release it for the PC for some reason (piracy?) and they gave a stupid reason for not releasing it. So what?
B) Aspyr is porting the game and from what I've read, their ports aren't the best.

9 - what? 4000?
no way a system like that would cost 4000. Could part one up better than recommended for $723.95
Usually if a game runs badly on a $800 machine itl run badly on a $4000 machine.

Hey hey. They never said you'd need a $4000 PC to run it.
They said it would be impossible for them to scale it so most machines, from low end to $4000 dream rigs, could get an enjoyable experience.
...Which was all apparently a lie since *tada* here it is. Or it could play like crap and they'll try to say "I told you so." Either way, I'm passing.
Call me when you go back to respecting your PC fans, LucasArts.

11 - $4,000?
No, more like a $600 PC. Custom built, that is.
The lowest end of the recommended (not minimum) graphics cards, the Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT, is only $100! A standard Asus motherboard ($150), Intel core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz ($100), 2Gigs of DDR2 RAM ($50), and any other necessary thing DVD drive, powersupply, and so on... (+/-$200).
As for his $4,000 number... The most expensive CPU is about $1,000 and the Nvidia 295 is about $500. Maybe this would bring you around $2500 in total with everything else (custom built).
But if you want to spend $4000 on a PC, yeah for you!
[EDIT] OH, also, he's probably including an LCD 1080p 32" 3D-ready monitor in it.
